2015 PCD Spirit Ride:

Village Greens Park Location: Village Greens Park is adjacent to Cherry Creek High School and Cherry Creek State Park. The park entrance is located at East Union Ave and South Dayton Street. Parking and registration will be at the far end of Village Greens Park near the #8 softball field where restrooms and a drinking fountain are located.

The Ride:

The PCD Spirit Ride will follow the Cherry Creek Bike Path from Village Greens Park to downtown Denver, returning to Village Greens Park via the same route.

  • The ride is approximately 25 miles round trip.
  • There will be a refreshment area somewhere near the mid-way point and those interested in a shorter ride can use this as their turn-around point. We will notify you of the exact location the day of the ride.
  • Because Confluence Park is being renovated, our rest area and turn-around point will be Commons Park located at 15th and Little Raven Streets just northeast of Confluence Park.
  • For those wanting to start in downtown Denver and ride the route in reverse, please plan to start in Commons Park between 9:15 and 9:30 AM.

To Reach Commons Park by Bicycle: As the Cherry Creek Bike Path nears the Platte River at Confluence Park, there is a brown concrete bridge with a wooden deck leading to the right. Ride across this bridge and look for the green “15th Street” Street sign. Note that the Platte River is on your left. At 15th Street, turn right using the sidewalk. Continue 1 block to Little Raven Street. Using the cross-walk traffic lights, turn left on Little Raven and immediately see the sign for Commons Park. Look for PCD signs directing you to our rest area.

For a Longer Ride: After finishingthe scheduled ride, if anyone is interested in racking up additional miles, riders can ride around Cherry Creek State Park, or ride south along the Cherry Creek Bike Path as far as Castlewood Canyon State Park which is 30 miles away. Perhaps a group of riders can team up and do this together, but be advised, this will not be supported.
