Start of Term Assemblies: Assemblies will take place today as follows. Please note that S4 and S5 pupils should bring a pen or pencil with them.

  • Period 1 S4
  • Period 2S5 & S6

Pupils should report to timetabled classes at the start of the period and then be escorted to the hall for the assembly.

Chewing Gum: Once again, all students a re reminded that they should not have chewing gum in school. This is a basicschool rule. No teacher should be having to ask a pupils to remove gum from his or her mouth. Please ensure that you abide by this rule at all times. (DB)

S1-S6 Badminton Tournament: An active schools Moraybadminton tournament will be held inMorayCollege on Monday 10 November from 5-7pm. If you are interested in competing, please sign up with Miss Gardiner in the PE department by Friday 31 November. (AG)

School Rugby Training Today: Meet in PE dept at 3.30pm. S1/S2 Team have a match against Nairn on the 12th of November. Any questions please see Mr Kelly in G 13. (PK)

Modern Languages: The Modern Languages tune of the week is Hips Don't Lie by Shakira and it was suggested by Hester Taylor in S5. Get voting on the app for next week's tune when we are going German and have an eclectic mix of music for you to choose from. (LL)

Drum kit lessons: Please note that Rob will not be in today (Wednesday) but will be in tomorrow instead. Please come at the same times as per the timetable. (HW)

Warhammer Club: Warhammer Club is now Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtimes in room B45. New members welcome. (CY)

Cross Country: Thank you for everyone who signed up to the cross country competition before the October holidays. We will have a meeting this Thursday Lunch time at 1.10pm in the PE department to discuss the arrangements for the trip. (JK)

The Spooky Story Session: Inthe library tomorrow from 1.105pm. Lots of shivers, scares and surprises arein store. (ST)

‘Design a Logo’ Competition: Your task is to come up with a logo for ‘Gordon’ which you think best represents the house. Get submissions in to your registration teacher, with your name and class before the closing date – 14 November. Entries will be judged by Mr Davidson and House Leaders (Fergus McLean and Kirsty Blair). Good luck!

S1 & S2 Novelties Book Group: Groupwill meet today in the library from 1.10pm. (ST)

S1-S3 Hockey Club: Just a reminder that the S1-S3 Hockey Club begins this Thursday (30th Oct) from

5-6pm on the astro pitch. Please bring any kit that you may have: sticks, shinguards and mouth guards. Also, please dress appropriately for the weather eg. waterproofs etc. If you have not already signed up and are interested in coming along, please pop down and see me in B20 before Thursday. S1 Elective trip to Dolphin Centre, SpeyBay on Thursday: All S1 pupils going on the trip need to return their permission slip along with £4.50 to either Miss McQueen (G14) or Mr MacFarlane (G24) by Wed 29th Oct. (LMcQ)

College Pupils – SFW Uniformed Services: For pupils attending College for SFW Uniformed Services, the following external visits have been arranged:

Wednesday 12 November 2014 - Buckie Life Boat Station

Wednesday 17 December 2014 – Inverness Prison

Both trips will take place during usual college times, so pupils will be back in College in times for the school transport. A permission letter will be handed out to the pupils on Wednesday to take home to parents. (AW)

Senior Football:Scottish shield game next Wednesday (5th November) at home to Nicholson Institute. Fireworks expected. Kick off will be 10am. Can all senior squad players see Mr Baker (G23) as soon as possible to verify availability as you will need to be registered with the SSFA. Thanks (MB)

S6 Pupils: There is a meeting for the Community Involvement committee on Friday at 1.10pm in the meeting room on the green floor. If you are not able to go then please speak to Mrs McDoanld before Friday.(MMCD)

S6 & Staff Social Volleyball: Thursday lunchtimes in Games Hall October to December. If you would like to play (or learn to play) volleyball come along on a Thursday lunchtime. The format will be basic coaching for 5 to 10 mins on setting or passing and then a game made from the players who are present. Teams would be mixed, made up from whoever turns up. If you are interested please let Mr Kelly know by the first Wednesday back to see if it is work doing. (PK)
