Choir coach - the drop-off and pick-up point is on Canonsway beside Millennium Square, which is close to the Harbourside venue.

Car – you could use one of the 3 main Park and Ride areas: Brislington to the East of the City, Junction 18 of the M5 to the West and near Long Ashton to the South. All three have routes that drop at the Harbourside or the Centre, both very short walks to the site. For further information go to

Alternatively, the nearest public car park is the Millennium Square Car Park, which has immediate access to the site through a pedestrian-only plaza. It is pricey, however. The next closest are Trenchard Street and Rupert Street multi-storey car parks.

What to bring

Your wristband to show you’re a registered singer (these will be given to you before the 27th).

Bags that you can carry. There isn’t a secure place to leave bags, although you can leave bags at the rear of the performance area during the Big Sing.

Plenty of water and some food, although there are several bars and cafes nearby along the waterfront where people can buy drinks, lunch, etc.

Sunscreen, sunglasses, and suitable clothing and sensible footwear for whatever the weather. There is no shade over the stage area but there are shady areas nearby.

On site there will be portaloos, an information and first aid point and a WaterAid stall.

What to wear

Please make sure you are wearing your wristband to show you’re a registered singer.

Costume - wear plain colours (no strong patterns) in any and all shades of blue and blue/green – water and sea colours. As long as you are in the right colours you can wear whatever you like. Jeans are fine, T shirts (without slogans) are fine, evening dresses are fine – dress to feel gorgeous and comfortable.

Sponsorship

Ideally all sponsor money should be paid either before or on the 27th June. There are 3 ways to pay:

  1. If you have collected your money in advance, you can give your cheques (made payable to Sing for Water West)or cash to your Choir Leader. Alternatively, you can pay them in to the WaterAid stand on the day.
  1. Pay your sponsor money in to our central justgiving website:
  1. Make your own justgiving website. The title must include the words ‘Sing for Water West’ (with your own name) so that the money is counted with our total.

If you are unable to collect your sponsor money in time for the event, then cheques can be sent to:

Sing for Water West, 57 St Werburghs Park, Bristol. BS2 9YX afterwards.

Please do not send cash. It would be great if this could be done asap, so that we can calculate our final total.

Audience

We are confident that this will be a really enjoyable afternoon, so please encourage your friends, family and acquaintances to come along and watch. They will have a free afternoon’s entertainment and we hope, support this excellent charity.

People may want to bring a chair or rug to sit on – there is plenty of flat ground in front of the stage and it’ll be lovely to see them enjoying a picnic and our glorious harmonies.
