Service and Support Administration Manager

TEMPORARY CONTRACT

Summary: Supervise the practice of service and support administration per OAC 5123:2-1-11 under the supervision of the Director of Service and Support Administration. Develop practices to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and fundamental skills of Service and Support Administrators. Assure the health and safety of individuals supported by MCBDD through shared work with families, support administrators, technical support, and the community. Assures that service plans developed by supervisees are in compliance with Federal, State, local rules, regulations, statutes standards, as well as Board policy, regulations and procedures, and related Operating Plans. Must strive to meet the Agency mission and exemplify the Agency's principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in hiring and training of SSA staff.
  • Supervise the practice of Service and Support Administration. Provide direction training and technical assistance to Service and Support Administrators in developing person-centered plans: including core plans and plans for individuals receiving HCBS waivers and MCBDD local funds. Review and provide feedback on plans as necessary.
  • Authorize and monitor expenditures for HCBS Waivers and local community dollars to ensure fiscal responsibility including the Prior Authorization process.
  • Provide direction and oversight to ensure timely and accurate enrollment of individuals on HCBS Waivers to maximize usage of local, state and federal dollars. Ensure compliance with various deadlines and expectations including distribution of service plans and all documents needed for HCBS waiver enrollment, routine documentation, billing, work schedule/calendar, voicemails, and other paperwork.
  • Assure the health and safety of individuals through shared work with families, Support Administrators, technical supports, providers and the community; monitor the implementation of mandated protocols that assure health and safety such as MUI prevention plans etc.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with consumers, administration, other agencies, professionals , staff, families and the public. Function as a liaison with internal and external providers.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate data entry and maintenance in the database system.
  • Provide direction to Support Administrators in ongoing development of community capacity to support the individuals and families through linkage to resources in the community and neighborhoods, including the development and implementation of consumer access to housing and living supports.
  • Participate in the development and the management of specialized functions, work groups and work projects as identified.
  • Participate in Medicaid Waiver Reviews, Audits, and CARF Surveys.
  • Perform Medicaid administration activities as they relate to this position. Document activities in a manner consistent with DODD requirements.
  • Facilitates the development and monitoring of crisis intervention activities in conjunction with other involved individuals. Activities may include, but are not limited to: completing/reviewing incident reports, ensuring that individuals'/residents' rights are preserved. May facilitate crisis intervention activities. Ensures that necessary services are available on a 24 hour basis and crises are responded to within a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Special Education, Social Work, Psychology or related area required. Masters degree preferred. Three Years of DD experience strongly preferred. Some supervisory experience in a related field preferred or substantial professional experience in service coordination.

  • Must be eligible for SSA Management 2 certification
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Must meet agency computer competency level requirements.
  • Must hold valid state of Ohio driver's license and continued maintenance of excellent driving record. Must meet agency driving requirements. May be required to drive agency vehicles.
  • Must successfully complete a BCI background check.
  • Must meet all other agency employment requirements. Must meet all requirements as outlined on the corresponding job description.

Salary: Negotiable based on education/experience
Hours:Approximately 40 hours per week; Exempt
