The Faribault County Board of Commissioners met at the Courthouse in the City of Blue Earth at 9:00 a.m. on June 12, 2007 as the Board of Equalization. The following members were present: Bill Groskreutz, Jr., Butch Erichsrud, Tom Loveall, Barb Steier and Tom Warmka, Commissioners, and County Auditor John Thompson. Assessor Sue Wiltse, Steve Robbins, and Ken Skaare were also present.

The oath of office was taken.

Loveall/Groskreutz motion carried unanimously to nominate Tom Warmka for Board of Equalization chairman.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Warmka.

Reiner Eisen of Minneapolis met regarding Parcel Nos. 30-426-1810, 30-426-1610 & 30-009-0400 for property owned by Wells Co Pack Foods. Taxpayer did not attend the Local Board of Appeal. Market values were discussed. County Assessor Wiltse agreed to review the parcels for payable 2008 assessment, taxes payable in 2009.

Ken Skaare reviewed a parcel owned by Allen and Gladys Borkowski, Parcel No. 27.200.3840. Owner did appear at local board of review and asked for a reduction of market value. The City of Kiester took no action at the Local Board of Appeal.

Loveall/Steier motion carried unanimously to accept assessor’s office recommendation to lower the value on Parcel No. 27.200.3840 owned by Allen and Gladys Borkowski to $21,500 after request for reappraisal and reduction in value.

Ken Skaare reported on a phone call from Michael Maine on Parcel No. 31.448.0210. The owner appealed the value at the Local Board of Appeal and the City of Winnebago lowered the market value to $46,300 after a reappraisal. The owner desired a further reduction.

Groskreutz/Erichsrud motion carried unanimously to make no change in assessment on Parcel No. 31.448.0210 in the City of Winnebago as set by the Local Board of Appeal.

General discussion on values was held.
