One to One Children’s Fund – Communications and Events Officer

One to One Children's Fund works with some of the most vulnerable children in the world, helping them to deal with disease, trauma and disability, and giving them the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives. We identify and fill the gaps neglected by Governments and other agencies, improving children's access to vital treatment, education and support, and building models at the grass roots which can be easily adopted and replicated by Governments to ensure their sustainability. We build the capability of those best placed to respond to the needs of children: families, health professionals, teachers, communities and local organisations, and we give particular priority to children's emotional, social and psychological needs.The Charity currently has ground-breaking programmes in Africa, the Middle East and Kosovo.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of One to One Children’s Fund Director of Development, the Communications and Events Officerwill contribute to the overall fundraising strategy of the organisation through the planning and execution of a broad range ofstrategic communications and special events.

We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible individual with an interest in the charity/ fundraising field who thrives in a fast-paced environment and working as part of a small collaborative team. You will have experience of organising high-quality, successful events, ideally in the charity field. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for proactive and targeted use of social media. You will be a creative thinker who is very organised, able to prioritise effectively, with a strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage social media, website and overall online presence on behalf of the charity.
  2. Ensure the charity’s website is maintained and up to date including identifying and writing content.
  3. Coordinate all aspects of multiple events throughout the year (including an annual gala dinner), taking responsibility for logistics, budgeting, management of suppliers and follow-up.
  4. Coordinate the production of marketing and communication materials, including the newsletter and Annual Review.
  5. Generate creative and original ideas for a range of targeted events to engage a wide range of supporters and potential donors
  6. Maintain fundraising administration including processing and acknowledgment of donations and ensuring accurate and up to date donor information on the charity’s Salesforce database.
  7. Contribute to presentations of the charity’s activities and project information to potential donors and partners.
  8. Actively seek out opportunities to enhance visibility of the organisation and engage with donors through a range of activities and channels.
  9. Provide database and IT support to ensure high quality donor care and accurate records.
  10. Demonstrate excellent standards of customer service with the ability to build successful working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  11. Undertake all administrative work generated by the post and assist with other administrative tasks as required

Education /
  • University degree or equivalent

Experience /
  • Experience organizing events preferably charity fundraising events
  • Experience managing Social Media and web presence
  • Experience with a CRM database (eg. Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) desirable
