JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior IT Staff Auditor will be responsible for completing financial, operational, and compliance audits in accordance with Touro’s policies and procedures. This position will take full responsibility for planning and performing audits inclusive of; risk assessments, documenting and performing walkthroughs, developing audit checklists, and work programs. This position will present audit findings and recommendations to Touro Senior Management. The position reports to Auditing Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop risk appraisal guide lines and audit paperwork templates.
  • Plan and conduct audits, pre pare reports on a monthly or yearly basis for clients, and take point as the lead reviewer.
  • Analyze financial data to insure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with relevant laws and standards, as well as to find instances of accounting deficiencies and/or fraud.
  • Oversee, guide, and mentor junior auditors.
  • Assist with the development of the annual internal audit plan
  • Identify process improvement opportunities or best practices to strengthen the internal control environment
  • Create process maps to document current process and identify key risks and controls

REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Preparation, and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, Information Systems or a related business field required. MBA is desired.
  • At least three years of experience, including 2 years of internal auditing experience preferably in the Information Technology
  • A CA/CPA/CIA/CISA preferred

Skills

  • Knowledge of auditing, financial analysis, and financial reporting
  • Strong technical audit and financial skills with a comprehensive understanding of Internal Auditing Standards, GAAP, C-SOX, COSO, COBIT
  • Strong understanding of business processes
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and effectively as individual contributor and team participant
  • Ability to lead team members on projects as required
  • Proven ability to collaborate, partner, initiate and maintain cross-department and intra-divisional relationships
  • Strong detailed analytical, negotiating and reasoning skills required
  • Effective time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines as well as the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner
  • Ability to interact positively and communicate with all levels of staff and management
  • Demonstrate ability to build and maintain positive working environment by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information, issues and knowledge with team members
  • Demonstrate ability in making practical, value-added and industry best practice recommendations to improve risk management practices and the efficiency and effectiveness of operations

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
