Start: Frederick Fairgrounds, 797 E Patrick St Frederick, MD 21701. Start Table just inside Gate 1, next to the Fest Hall, south end.

Start Time: 9:00 a.m. - noon. Must finish by 3:00 p.m.

Trail:There are 10 kmand5kmtrails.

Both trails are on sidewalks and roadsides in the city of Frederick.They go through historic Frederick, along Carroll Creek, and out to Mt Olivet cemetery with Francis Scott Key's gravesite. The trails are user friendly to wagons, wheelchairs and strollers, though some difficulty may be encountered where there are no curb cuts.

Eachparticipantmustcarryastartcardthroughoutthewalk.Pleaseturn thecardinattheendofyourwalksoweknowthatyouaresafelyoffthetrail.Anadultmust accompanychildrenunder12throughouttheentirewalk.Parentsofminorchildrenmustsign a waiver ofliability forthe children.

Refreshments: Water and candy will be available at the start and control points. Food and drink may be purchased at the "Oktoberfest."

Walkers will enjoy FREE ENTRY into the Oktoberfest! The Fairgrounds will be turned into a German Village with food and drink, music, dancing, many vendors, children's events, and more. This Oktoberfest is produced by the Rotary Clubs of Frederick County to benefit local charities.

Conditions:This event is open to everyone and will be held in reasonable weather conditions. Restrooms available at start / finish and along the trail.

Dogs: No pets are permitted at the Fairgrounds.

From the East on I-70: Take Exit 56 (East Patrick St.). Continue on East Patrick St.

**** Turn RIGHT on Monroe Ave. and enter the Fairgrounds at Gate #3 for Volksmarch parking. Park and walk to the left (south) end of the "Fest Hall," the largest building ahead of you on your left.

Parking is FREE, but you may make a donation !

From the West on I-70: Take Exit 56 (East Patrick St.). Turn RIGHT at end of exit onto # 144. This will merge with East Patrick St. Continue on East Patrick St.
