Second Grade Teachers:

Attached are the unit test item analyses for the second grade assessments in the student journals for Math Expressions Common Core. They were created to inform the grades on our report cards and progress reports.

On our report cards, the grade for adds and subtracts are for fluency. I have separated them out on these lists for analysis purposes only. The grades for those would actually go under place value concepts, as they need to understand the values in each place to add and subtract multi-digit numbers and compute accurately.

Also, you might consider when a student gets an incorrect answer on a word problem due to computational error rather than understanding the problem.

Not all items on the assessments fit into the categories we are reporting on, but are considered important in instruction to prepare them for future grades.
