Sayad at Emirates Palace Welcomes Chef de Cuisine Shaun Anthony

The celebrated award winning Sayad fine dining restaurant at Emirates Palace welcomes new Chef de Cuisine Shaun Anthony. Shaun has an illustrious career spanning 12 years working in some of the most highly regarded restaurants in Europe. With 3 Michelin star training and the ambition to ensure Sayad Restaurant is distinguished as one of the worlds best fine dining restaurants, we can expect even more from this signature restaurant at Emirates Palace.

Shaun joins Emirates Palace from Singapore, originally from Canada, he describes his new role at Emirates Palace as an exciting time, “with the opportunity to build on such success and the enthusiastic support from the team, there are no limits to take Sayad to the world” he explains. His passion is fish, his aim, to bring global contemporary seafood to Sayad. He describes his success has been built on three cornerstones “choosing the best sustainable produce available in season, respecting and understanding the ingredients and supporting preservation of the eco system” he explains.

Sayad Restaurant is due to reopen on 15 September and Shaun will bring a contemporary twist to the new menu with mouth watering tempting creations such

as Ocean Trout cured in salt and honey then confit’d in clarified butter, and Shaun’s personal favorites including Halibut with artichokes and Barramundi with asparagus-chevre risotto, orange, and fennel. Meat dishes such as Wagyu Sirloin and Lamb3 are also included alongside a Squab and Foie Gras dish with squab imported from the UK. There will be more to savor at Sayad for the new season.

Born in Canada, Shaun found the passion for cooking at an early age, inspired by his grandmother and the tempting home sweet treats of Canadian Butter Tarts and Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. Excelling in his career across Europe and Asia, with credentials from the famous Gordon Ramsay’s Royal Hospital Road London Restaurant and Shaun’s recent Chef of the Year Nomination from Napa Wine Bar and Kitchen in Shanghai, he joins Sayad at Emirates Palace when his new menu will be complimented by a new look Sayad Restaurant with the opening of the Sayad Lounge, an idyllic tranquil setting, the terrace overlooks the pristine beach and blue waters of the Marina, a perfect backdrop to take your time to indulge in Sayad.

Prepare for a glittering opening of Sayad Restaurant in September, voted the Restaurant of the Year by Abu Dhabi Gourmet in 2010, this will be the new dining address to impress.
