Job Purpose:
Support the implementation and delivery of the LSTF project (Bus Boost and Independent Travel Training); promoting the use of sustainable travel to non-users through organisations, residential developments and with relevant agencies within selected areas across South Yorkshire.

Dimensions:
Contact and promotion of the use of sustainable travel to public and private sector organisations, community groups, and individuals across South Yorkshire in order to raise awareness and to encourage modal shift.

Responsibilities/Key Accountabilities:
  1. Support the implementation of the LSTF Project work streams by contact and promotions with organisations, residential developments, agencies, and individuals within selected areas across South Yorkshire by addressing sustainable travel options on both an organisational and individual level.
  1. Promote sustainable travel options within organisations and provide them appropriate ticketing offers and packages tailored to individual and organisational needs including measures of effectiveness.
  1. Introduce the organisations products and services to both cold and warm prospective customers through various channels including telephone and site visits.
  1. Liaise closely with other departments, varied groups and partners to develop and successfully deliver the projects sustainable travel solutions.
  1. Monitor and evaluate the scheme targeting individuals and partner organisations across South Yorkshire to demonstrate modal shift as a result of interventions.
  1. Gather and document information about the customer enabling marketing to support the execution of the LSTF initiative.
  1. Advise the Senior Travel Choices Advisor on the development of new offers and measures required for effective delivery of appropriate public transport and information schemes to support accessing opportunities for employment and further education.
  1. Develop and maintain links with individuals, communities and organisations, particularly those in LSTF targeted areas.
  1. Work as part of the Business Development team and liaise with others to continuously improve cross-functional efficiency.
  1. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as directed by the Senior Travel Choices Advisor.

Planning and Organisation:
  • Assist in the delivery of a sustainable transport promotion for the Executive in line with the Local Transport Plan and LSTF project.
  • Produce and maintain reports and reporting proposes to inform internal and external customers of the Travel Choices Team and LSTF Team, on both a routine and ad hoc basis.
  • Provide regular progress updates for the Senior Travel Choices Advisor.
  • Attend meetings, seminars and road shows at various locations throughout the County. This may include working in the evenings and at weekends.
  • Advise and assist in the design of new sustainable travel promotional offers.
  • Contribute to team working within the Business Development Team and liaise with others to continually improve cross-functional efficiency.

Decision Making and Use of Judgement:
  • Analyse organisation, community and individual requirements. Advise them on available sustainable travel products on behalf of Travel South Yorkshire.
  • Make day-to-day decisions on operational matters within parameters agreed with the Senior Travel Choices Advisor.
  • Participate in organisational decision making through membership of formal groups and committees.
  • Arrange, organise and attend internal and external meetings as necessary. This may necessitate out of hours working.
  • Advise and assist in the design of new sustainable transport promotional offers and marketing activities.
  • Actively promote awareness of sustainable transport across the community.

Essential Internal and External Relationships:
Collaborative working with other members of the Customer Experience Directorate and other Executive staff.
Liaison with the appropriate personnel of referral partners, community organisation, local authorities and employers and assist in consultation activities where required.
