SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR

THE TUMBLE FORM FLOOR SITTER

All staff who position the child in the Tumble Forms floor sitter should be familiar with the following information.

DESCRIPTION:

The Tumble Forms floor sitter is suitable for a child who needs extra support for floor sitting and cannot tolerate a fully upright position. It is available in four sizes (the range accommodates children from approximately 6 months to adult), and the seat can be positioned on the base in varying degrees of recline. The Tumble Forms floor sitter can be used with an easel table to allow access to toys.

The Tumble Forms floor sitter is to be used only for a nominated child, on the recommendation of the child’s therapist. It should not be used for any purpose other than that described.

SAFE USE OF THE TUMBLE FORMS FLOOR SITTER:

• The child must be supervised at all times while in the Tumble Forms floor sitter.
• All straps must be securely fastened while the child is in the Tumble Forms floor sitter.
• The chest strap must be correctly positioned across the child’s chest so it will not block the airway or restrict breathing.
• The Tumble Forms floor sitter is only for use on the floor. It should never be placed on a raised surface.
• Adjustments to the Tumble Forms floor sitter should only be carried out by the child’s therapist.

MAINTENANCE OF THE TUMBLE FORMS FLOOR SITTER:

The Tumble Forms floor sitter should be cleaned regularly with a sponge dampened with water and mild detergent. It should not be immersed, as it will absorb water.

The Tumble Forms floor sitter should not be placed on rough surfaces that could damage the vinyl coating.

The Tumble Forms floor sitter should be checked before each use for signs of damage or missing parts. Please check that:

• straps are correctly attached and in good condition, and clasps are secure
• Velcro is free of fluff and the seat is adhering firmly to the base
• there are no cracks or tears in the surface of the seat or base
