Dear Parents,

Welcome to River Dell Volleyball. Your daughter has signed up for the upcoming volleyball season at the high school. Being part of a high school team is a big commitment for both the student-athlete and the parents. The season startson Monday, August 14thand can run up to November 19th. It is essential that all players report on the 14th and be present during preseason. Please note that we practice on Saturdays. Players are expected to be at all practices, matches and tournaments. We do not practice on Sundays, Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Please refer to the River Dell webpage under ATHLETICS for all information regarding physicals, athletic forms and activity fee. (See reverse side of this letter)

No student will be allowed to practice or compete in August if the physical form has not been cleared.

If you would like to take advantage of a free physical, the school will be providing one with the school physician on Tuesday, June 13th after school at the high school nurse’s office. Part A and the top of Part Bneeds to be complete with signatures of both the student and parent/guardianbefore seeing the doctor.

Summer camp information has been given to your daughter. Camp is optional. Camp, other than the River Dell camp, is not a school-sponsored activity, and the River Dell coaching staff is not responsible for the girls.

I encourage your daughter to take advantage of River Dell’s Strength and Conditioning Programrun by River Dell’s Strength and Conditioning coaches during the summer. Schedule is attached. This program is free and will prepare your daughter for the upcoming season and for other sports that your daughter can participate in during the winter and spring seasons.

There will be a meeting for all girls who plan to play volleyball at the high school gym onWednesday, June 14that 3:00. At this time the girls will meet with the coaches and the upper classmen on the team. The upper classman will be practicing to prepare for the summer league that they play in. This will give the incoming freshman a chance to see the quality of play we strive for. Please plan on the girls staying until about 3:30.

School email is used to communicate with players. It is essential that your daughter check her school email periodically during the summer.
