Reimbursement Procedure for Coordinators Meeting

The Consumer Federation of America will reimburse two attendeesfor travel and one night lodging according to the following guidelines:

  1. The total reimbursement for travel to the coordinators meeting will not exceed $550 for the first participant. Please make every effort to save on your expenses. CFA will reimburse travel expenses up to $275 for the second participant. Reimbursement is based on complete attendance of the coordinators meeting.
  1. We request that you secure the most economical rate possible for airfare. Please consider flying into Baltimore/Washington Airport (BWI) or Dulles. For train and ground transportation from BWI and Dulles, please see below. CFA does not pay for taxis from Washington National, BWI or Dulles airports.

CFA will not reimburse travelers for the cost of checked baggage.

  1. Hotel lodging will be reimbursed up to $250 for one night. Hotel accommodations will be made by participants. Internet websites such as hotels.com and expedia.com often have the least expensive rates.
  1. If necessary, funding will be provided for ground travel within Washington, D.C.(i.e., Metro or Metrobus). CFA does not pay for taxis. For Metro schedule information,go to

Auto travel is reimbursed at 57.5 cents per mile.Mileage will only be reimbursed for direct travel to and from the coordinators meeting. CFA will not reimburse mileage for travel to and from home airports.

Rail Transportation - BWI:

Please take advantage of economical train travel if at all possible.

A free shuttle (leaves every twelve minutes) transports passengers from the BWI terminal to the rail station. The trains run from BWI airport to Union Station, Washington, D.C.

Marc Penn Line Train

Schedule:Last bus from Dulles to L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station leaves at 11:35 p.m.

Last bus from L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station to Dulles leaves at 10:30 p.m.

At Dulles, the Metrobus stops at the Ground Transportation Curb (Arrivals level, down the ramp) at curb location 2E.
