Scene 4: The Arrest

SETTING: Tommy, Peter and Mark are

chatting in the churchyard at dusk…..

Tommy : I am worried about the Authorities; they think I am a troublemaker.

Peter: Don’t be silly, you haven’t done anything wrong!

Mark: I know you want some quiet time Tommy but can we go to the cinema?

Peter: Oh look, there’s our friend Judas (pause)

Tommy: But he looks worried…and who’s that with him?

Caitlyn: You lot over there , I want a word with you!

Emily ( hesitates and then walks over to greet Jesus) Good evening Tommy.

Tommy: What are you up to Judas?

Caitlyn: I am here to arrest you Tommy from Wickwar.

Lewis: No you are not! ( they scuffle in the road)

Tommy: No I will have no violence in a sacred place! I will come quietly.. but let me heal your cut!

( Mark and Peter look shocked and don’t know what to do) THE END

Scene 2: In the Temple

Setting: It is a sunny day at the Wickwar

Village Fete

Peter: Come on Tommy, lets buy a snack

and I promised I would buy honey for my

mother.

Laura: Do you want a go on the tombola?

Sarah: I’d like to find an ice cream!

Judas: Do you think we’ll raise some money in the raffle?

Tommy enters the courtyard and wanders around…Look at all this gambling..this is a church!

Peter: Don’t fuss Tommy, a market has been held here for years. Even the Pharisee are here…

Tommy explodes with rage and turnover the tables!

Laura and Nia: He’s a bit angry, who is that stranger.

Tommy: This is not on…take it all away.

Judas: What’s up with him?

Scene 1 : The Journey

Setting: The journey to celebrate

Passover. The group tried filming as they

walked through trees around the school

grounds. They discussed the Passover

feast and meeting family and friends. Unfortunately, the flip camera didn’t pick up the volume unless the voices were close so we tried again on the path up to the parish church.

Scene 5: The next morning

Setting: Outside Spar in Wickwar High street.

The group discussed what Mary would have felt like after hearing the news of her son’s arrest. They were also quick to point out that the news would have spread through Jerusalem in the small streets and in the markets. A friend gives Mary flowers and some of Mary’s friends decide to go to the local police station to see him.

Scene 3 : The Last Supper

Setting: A Friday evening in the High Street.

Judas: Shall we go to MacDonalds?

Jake: Yes, that’s a good idea. I’m starving!

Tommy: I think one of you are going to

Betray me tonight.

Olivia: I will never betray you , my good friend.

Judas: We neither.

Jake: I will go and order..what would you like?

Friend: Why did you want all of the group to come here tonight Tommy?

Tommy: this might be the last McDonalds we have for a while!

Friend: what do you mean?

Tommy: My father needs me and I fear I will be arrested…

Friend: whatever do you mean…who will arrest you, why?

Tommy: Dear friends, just be glad to share this meal together, here have some of mine…

Friend: I am worried…lets go home…

Friend: We don’t need yours Tommy, I have plenty of chips..

Tommy: No I insist,…this represents my blood and I want to remember I will always be with you…and this is my body which I give to you..

Friend: you are scaring me Tommy, why would I forget a dear friend?

Judas leaves quietly when no one is looking…

Tommy: someone will betray me and my father has chosen a path for me to follow.

Friend: then let us come with you Tommy!

·  To explain why Christian celebrate Easter.

·  Extension: How does celebrating Easter help Christians to remember their past and their relationship with God. What is ‘ incarnation?’
