No doubt you are counting down like us to the warmer weather of Spring. 31 more days! Bring it on! We hope that you are getting through the winter OK. Term 3 is well under way and the children are “on fire“ with their learning. We have been great conversations lately with children talking about their improvement in writing punctuation, self-management and thinking skill.
Ask your children this question? What does a good learner look like? Listen carefully and then share what this looks like for you. You will love this discussion.
Cam Gordon R24:
We wish to announce that Cam has been appointed as Deputy Principal of Emmanuel Christian School! We extend our congratulations to Cam. This is a wonderful opportunity for Cam to build on his career and we wish him all the best. This position starts at the beginning of term 4. We currently have a process up and running to find a replacement teacher for the children of Room 24. We will keep you posted.

BYOD Parent Evening - Thursday 20 August 6.30pm:
We are excited to be introducing BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) to Queenspark School. We are holding a parent information evening on how this will look at QPS. We have a guest speaker, Janelle Riki from CORE Education speaking and we hope to have devices on display for you to view. This is mainly directed at parents with children in Y5-8 but everyone is invited to come along to hear what we are doing in this area. Please RSVP at the school office. Pop in and see us, call (383-1578) or email
Have a great weekend. Wrap up warmly if you are on the sports sideline tomorrow morning :))

Queenspark School Fair

White Elephant Stall

The school Fair will have the traditional white elephant stall where one person’s junk is another person’s treasure. Or in 21st century speak… it’s about recycling!

If you have bric-a-brac, household items, crockery, utensils, books, toys, games, tools, clothes, etc – items of some value that can be sold as treasures and or recycled, then please donate them to the school’s white elephant stall.

What we cannot accept as donated items: any electrical appliance. If it plugs into an electrical socket we cannot accept it.

What we will need to see before we accept it: large furniture items.

The contact people are Tony Mabin and Chris Kime. When the containers appear then these will be the drop-off point for white elephant stall items before and after school. In the meantime contact Tony Mabin or Chris Kime so we can arrange storage of your donations.

Just a reminder about Lunch-on-Line. This is a great service provided to our school by Sydenham Bakery. There is an extensive menu and your children can have lunch (hot and /or cold) delivered directly to school! Nice to have the option as a weekly order or as a treat now and then 

PINASTER PLACE – RADIATA AVE

PARENTS…. We have had reports of speeding cars travelling along Radiata Avenue and nearly hitting our students! We will be having the City Council /Police monitor this in the next few weeks but can you please keep an eye on our dear children crossing the road over Radiata Ave. The trouble here (apart from the speeding cars) is that the children cannot see past parked cars. I am hoping to have yellow lines put in so that may give children a clearer view but until this happens we all need to be watchful to ensure the safety of our children. Record anyone speeding or not obeying the rules. We will do all we can to make sure our children are safe on the roads.

Have an awesome weekend everyone!
