A:The RCRA National Conference is a great place for emerging professionals, professionals, and others in this amazing field to come together in a variety of environments to meet and learn about the wonderful world of recreation. You will have the opportunity to go to a variety of informational sessions to learn about different topics that can be useful to this field as well as social events to network with and meet a variety of people from all over the recreation world.

Q: What if I’m not currently a member or need to renew my membership?

A:You may renew/purchase a new membership on RCRA’s website! There are five different memberships, so make sure you pick the one that’s best for you!

Q: What type of room accommodations are there?

A:While at the beautiful Sunriver Resort there are three different types of rooms available; theLodge Villa Guestroom (115.00/night), the Lodge Villa Suite (175.00/night), and the River Lodge Guestroom (165.00/night).

Q:I’m still not sure if I can go, how long is Sunriver taking reservations?

A:The RCRA room block will be open until October 11th, 2017. It’s still possible to get a room after October 11th but you might not be able to get the RCRA pricing.

Q:Is it possible to stay at a different hotel?

A:While it is possible there will be a $7 per person/per night charge for not staying at Sunriver.

Q:I really want to go but I don’t know anyone else going and I can’t pay for the room myself, what do I do?

Q: How do I get to Sunriver Resort?

A: Unless you live close, plane would be your best option! There are two airports you can fly into: Roberts Field in Redmond, Oregon (45 minute drive) and Portland, Oregon (3.5 hour drive.

Q: How do I get from the airport to the resort?

A: If you land in Redmond, Uber started service in May of this year. You can also call the Sunriver town car at 541.706.0626. Rental cars are also an option.

Q: What is the weather like in Oregon in November?

A: Highs average in the mid-40’s while the lows at night are around the mid to low 20’s.

Q:I made it to Sunriver, now what?

A:Once you get to Sunriver its bester to check in with both the resort and our conference so we know you’re here! The registration desk for RCRA is open Saturday November 11th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and Sunday, November 12th from 8:30am – 5pm.It’s very important to sign in, you’ll get you name tag and all of the information about what is going on at this year’s national conference!

Q:Is there a dress code for the conference?

A:As this is a business conference a majority of the conference is spent in Business attire. The conference program will let you know what is acceptable for which event.

Q:What different events are there to network with the professionals and other students?

A:We have a variety of different socials throughout the short time that we are at the conference, and each of these have a different theme! These socials include the Presidents social and the RCRA Gala (descriptions and dress code will be in the program).

Q: I’m a student and want to get an internship with a property at the conference, how do I get and interview?

A:First things first you need information about the different properties at the conference. This is where the job fair comes in. All of the properties that are looking for interns/full-time/part-time employees will have tables set up and will be there to give you information, answer your questions and get to know you a little bit! After the job fair, all the properties come together to set up everyone’s interview schedule and you’ll find out who you’re interviewing with and at what time, later that night!

Q:I have some interviews, how long do I have to wait to actually interview?

A:Interviews take place the day after the internship/job fair, so you don’t have too long to wait!
