Dear Director,
The Cedar Springs Music Boosters invite you to attend the 56th annual Red Flannel Marching Band Invitational to be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from approximately 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This contest is held in conjunction with our city’s annual Red Flannel Festival. The Red Flannel Grand Parade begins at 3:00 p.m. and you are invited to stay after the completion of the contest and march in the parade. If you participate in the parade, our Red Flannel Festival Committee will donate $200 to your program to help cover costs.
The competition will be held in Red Hawk Stadium, which is located next to our high school and features artificial turf, an ideal all-weather performance venue and seating that accommodates four thousand on the home side, with tall stands and a press box for better viewing. There is room for all bands to sit in the home stands to watch the other bands perform and stay for the awards ceremony. We also have sufficient parking, concession and restroom facilities.
Bands entering for competition will perform using the Scholastic Marching Band format. There will be four divisions: A, B, C and D with classification determined by the MSBOA Guidelines.
Bands entering for Division rating or comments-only will perform using MSBOA rules and sheets. Plaques will be presented to all bands entering for Division rating and for-comments only. All bands will receive recorded comments from our judging panel as well as a DVD of your performance.
The entry fee for all bands will be $150.00
We must receive your application by Friday, September 16, 2016.

Class A 250 and up Class C 90 – 149.9
Class B 150 – 249.9 Class D 0 – 89.9
