  1. Call to Order- Themeeting was called to order at 4:23 by Alan Bates.
  2. Approval of Agenda-The agenda was approved with flexibility by Michele Turner and seconded by Melissa France.
  3. Approval of Minutes- The November minutes were approved by BethAkemon and seconded by MeganTerlau.
  4. Committee Reports
  1. Budget/Benefits- See New Premiums under New Business
  1. Grievance- See attached report. We will be having a District AA meeting and will be discussing/clarifying the evaluation procedure. Your building rep will update you when we get clarification.
  1. Membership- nothing to report at this time
  1. Elections- nothing to report at this time
  1. OEA, SWOEA, Uniserv– Laura Condo attended the SWOEA rep assembly a few weeks ago and gathered information on several issues. One is the 5 of 8 rulefrom the State Board of Education.The vote will be on December 9th. They also learned about House Bill 22 that will limit time spent on State Testing. There was another House Bill that talked about eliminating the state minimum teacher salary, but we found out from our labor consultant, that that provision was recently removed from the bill.

Katie Boerger, our OEA labor consultant, shared how great it has been to be in the buildings getting to know everyone.

She also shared information about the 3rd year resident educator submissions. Out of 15,000 only 284 were deemed unscoreable. It was very hard to decipher between 2nd and 3rd year. We are also having a very hard time getting summative scores.

It is very important that we, as a local, know who the resident educators are and if they are eligible for a renewal or extension because it is highly unlikely that teachers will have enough time to resubmit before the deadline passes. Options are as follows: They can apply for an extension (1 or 2 year, Katie suggests 2 year). Katie suggests they do this and then once you get everything done and submitted then you can apply for your 2 year license. Katie also suggested that Res 1 and Res 2 do not mean that you are a 1st or 2nd year teacher. Years teaching and res level are not tied together.

There will a meeting for Resident Educators and Mentors on December 11th at the Middle School to inform us of all changes.

  1. LPDC – Doug/Megan/Julie- There is a meeting next Thursday. The committee will start accepting final reviews in January.
  1. Master Teacher– Gretchen- The committee had a meeting last month and several people are interested in going through the process this year. It was shared that in order to apply and go through the process of becoming a master teacher, a teacher must have at least 7 years of teaching experience.
  1. Old Business

A. Finalized Contract–The negotiations teamis still working on finalizing language. We are working under the new contract, we do not have anything to publish or share because we need to be sure that the language is correct.

  1. New Business
  1. New Premiums- Jamie Stephens wanted to make sure that all members received the email from her via Christin McCormick. MEMBERS NEED TO GO INTO THE ERC TO CHECK THEIR PAYSTUB FOR THE CORRECT DEDUCTIONS. If there are mistakes, email Jamie directly.
  1. District A/A –PACE leadership will be meeting with CO next Wednesday on December 10th. Several issues will be discussedthat are outside of the contract. Some of them are access to the buildings, sub coverage and blizzard bags.
  1. Building Reports:

SH: How soon after the observation do principals need to enter your post-conference information into OTES? We thought the time was 7 school days. What happens if it’s late? Does a follow-up meeting need to take place?

ST:Nothing to report at this time

SP: Laura thanked us for flowers sent by PACE.

GL: Nothing to report at this time

HH: 1) When there is a 2 hour delay and the AM Kindergarten students come and spend the rest of the day with all the students and the building plan is to split the students among the 3 Kindergarten teachers, do they get paid extra for having more students? What is the number of extra students a teacher has to take on before getting paid extra? Answer – Yes, teachers get paid for taking 5 or more students into their classroom if the students are not on their regular roster. 2) Cleanliness of building. Principal has sent multiple emails to those in charge of the custodial staff and there has been no action. 3) Why are we not given extra time to grade and analyze practice PARCC assessments when the High School has early release on Wednesdays and the second ½ of exam days to grade assessments?

The meeting was adjourned at 5:25. A motion was made by Julie Schmidt and seconded by Michele Turner.
