Block-of-the-Month: Doug Wilson resourced patterns from the Quilters’ Cache website

Paint Chip Challenge: Participants chose a paint chip, then created a quilt, using the color of the paint chip as the main color, with coordinating colors added. The winner of the challenge was JoLynn Brummer.

Best of Show Quilt: This year’s show was held November 21, 22 and 23 at the Expo Center. The “Tree of Life” quilt, pieced and quilted by Betsy McCall, Kathy Moe and Dona Salerno, won Best of Show. The quilt was donated to Olde Annville Days and raffled off in June.

Workshops and Retreats:

October 11, 2014,Sit-and-Sew: The project was a Disappearing Nine-Patch Quilt with Sashing and was taught by Elaine Brant.

October 30 – Nov 1, Fall Retreat: ChristennaStamm, Sue Bechtel and Sue Kline hosted the retreat. Participants made several projects, one of which was a “Doohicky”, which had multiple uses.

January 10, 2016, Workshop: JoEllen Myers hosted this workshop. Participants completed a Blooming Nine-Patch quilt.

February 3, Workshop: Barbara Dann, from Deb Tucker Studio 180 Design, hosted this workshop. Participants used Studio 180 Design tools to complete their projects.

March 28, Workshop: Jan Morrissey hosted this workshop. Participants used the Lone Star and Hunter Star patterns to complete their projects.

March 4 – 6, Spring Retreat: Cathy Eash, Deb Newell, Mattie Hartman and Ann Davis organized this retreat, which was held at Philhaven.

April 18, Day of Caring: Carol Maurer and Pauline Charles hosted this workshop. Participants completed quilts for Domestic Violence Intervention (DVI).

Education: Elaine Brant presented programs at Linden Village and at Countryside Christian Community.

Community Service:

326 quilts were made and donated to Domestic Violence Intervention (DVI).

222 pillowcases were made and donated to children at the Hershey Medical Center.

20 quilts were made and donated to fallen members of the State Police.

Cornwall Manor was the recipient of several projects including tea towels and other specialty items.
