Physical and Chemical Changes Project

Physical and Chemical Changes Project

Keep these questions in mind throughout your research as you will be required to answer each with scientific facts. You will need to support your answers with scientific data you have learned through your research. Your will be required to type your final product. You will be given 90 minutes to construct your rough draft, make revisions, and then put together your final draft. We will go to the computer lab to do this. Your specific topic will be given to you at that time. Throughout your research, you will need to keep in mind the questions listed below as well as the following vocabulary words: physical change, mixture, separate, chemical change, reaction, solution, substance, physical properties, chemical properties, states of matter, solid, liquid, gas, mass, weight, gravity, matter. For each experiment, you will write a summary of the experiment which should include VOCABULARY words and DEFINITIONS, your observations, and what you learned through the experiment.

●How can matter be changed?

●How are mass and weight different?

●Why does the mass of an object remain constant regardless of its location?

●How can I tell if matter has undergone a chemical change or a physical change?

●How do different forms of water exist on Earth?

●How can matter change by just looking at it?

Experiment Stations:

**Don’t forget to go back to the top of this project assignment and review what you need to do for EACH experiment!! In addition, there are a few questions at the bottom of each experiment card that you need to answer in your report. These questions can be answered within your paragraphs as long as you RESTATE each question clearly.

  1. Explosive or Corrosive Experiment Station
  2. Fizz Inflator
  3. Slime
  4. Elephant Toothpaste
