Photosynthesis and Respiration Review Project

  1. Everyone will share responsibility for this review. Each group will be assigned one of the listed topics. You are to prepare a5-8 minute review video of your topic to be recorded on ScreenChomp on Monday, December5th through Wednesday December 7th, during class time. (In addition to the final product, you have to also turn in draft of your script by the end of the class on Monday December 5th (A block) or Tuesday, December 6th (B block))
  1. You are to decide on your own format for the brief review. Be creative (and entertaining if possible!). You may summarize the topic in a lecture, short story, or song, use diagrams and/or charts, write review questions, add a quiz game, etc.

For each topic you will:

Identify the key concepts and players (chemical reactions, vocabulary, key molecules)

Describe the overall process and the input and outputs.

Use visuals to showcase the location and process. (Reaction graphs and pictures of different locations are always helpful here)

Explain the main concept, using visuals, recorded voice.

Identify 1-2 problems when something doesn’t go according to plan…what is the problem and what are the consequences of that.

You know what is expected of you, and I know you can do a great job!

Text Directions for Using ScreenChomp:

  1. Tap the ScreenChomp app icon.
  2. Using the drawing tools begin to utilize the board as you would a whiteboard or Interwrite pad (there are no wireless solutions yet, so you’ll need a VGA cord connected to the iPad dongle to project onto a screen or board).
  3. To change colors of the markers, tap and hold down any marker and you’ll get a choice of 12 colors to choose from.
  4. To erase the while screen tap and hold the wipe cloth icon.
  5. To erase just a section of the screen, tap the black eraser to erase only what you touch (the eraser will turn white, and back to black when you select a different tool).
  6. If you would like to add a photo to the background to lecture off of, tap the far left icon for your camera roll (there is not a “Camera” feature, so you’ll need to save an image online to your roll or already have taken your picture, otherwise you’ll have to switch out of the app take the picture and come back to it).
  7. If you would like to record your screen, tap the red “rec” button at the bottom right of the screen. It will count down 3, 2, 1 and begin recording. The app will utilize your microphone and record your voice as well. When you are done, tap the “stop” button. This will take you to another screen where you will preview your video. If you do not like it, tap and hold the trashcan to rerecord your presentation. When you are satisfied with your video, tap the “screenchomp.com” button at the bottom right (next to the Facebook button). Once you tap this, your video will be uploading to the ScreenChomp server and be available for you as soon as it’s processed. To find out when it’s done, tap the three cards at the top left of the main white screen. You’ll be able to see all of your videos that you’ve uploaded so far.
  8. Send Ms. Chen a link to your ScreenChomp video when you are done!
