3. Internet content research:

Search reputable sites (NOT WIKIPEDIA) for information regarding your topic.

How do you know if it is a good site? 1st sign is the address. If the URL ends in .org, .gov, or .edu chances are it is good.

Some sites to try:

Use a search engine for more content specific searches such as Jamestown, Pueblo Revolt, etc.

4. Take notes about this person or event and start working on a script. You can save info on your x drive or flash drive.

5. Internet image search:

Use a good search engine such as Google for images. Please find and save images that are about 500x500 in size and save them as jpegs if you can. You can save to your x drive or flash drive.

6. Open Photo Story 3 and begin a new story.

7. Import images from the file you saved on your x or flash drive. Save it as a photo story file.

8. Now you can arrange the pictures in any order you want by simply dragging them around.

9. If you need to edit them there are buttons at the bottom of your image. Click Next

10. Type a title over your first image. Save photo story file!!! Click Next

11. On this page you can record narration and customize your image. Click on Customize Motion. This lets you pan across the image, show specific details etc. You can customize each picture then go back and record narration or complete each slide one at a time. Save often to both X andflash drive if you can!

12. Create a final image using one of your found pictures or a power point slide saved as a jpeg for your credits and sources!!! You must include the URL Addresses of your best sources!!! Ask how to do this!!! Save often!!!

13. Record narration. You must have a microphone to do this and you will need a little help at first. Once all slides are complete and narration finished click next. Save often!

14. This section lets you create background music. Click create music… You will have several drop down menus to select from allowing you to change the underlying music style. Once you have chosen a final version pay attention to tempo then click OK. This brings you back to the first music window. Click Preview and check the volume of your music and your narration. Keep it low so you can hear your narration. Save often to as many sources as you can (X &/or flash drives!

15. Click Next… This brings you to your save options. This work station is broken into 3 sections. Leave the first section alone (save for playback on a computer)

The next section contains the file location and a browse button. Click browse and let select the location you want the computer to save your video file. (Your x drive or flash drive) You will be prompted to click Save – do so but this is not the last step!

You must then go to the last section of this screen and click NEXT! This step will “cook”all of your photo story files into a .wmv file. This step will take a few minutes…

16. Your video should be between 2-4 minutes long…
