Research Experience

09/99GPS/Bathymetric mapping of Willow River, a sediment-infilled river in Western Wisconsin.

09/99Used GPS to create a detailed map of facilities and locations in Governor Dodge State Park, located in Dodgeville, WI. Poster was made and is up for public display in the park.

07-99Surveyed and GPS’ed a landform and vegetation transect across a portion of the Sheyenne National Grasslands in North Dakota.

06-99Reconstructing Post-Glacial Paleoenvironment in the Oak Lake Sand Hills, SW Manitoba. Wanted to better understand the environmental conditions within which past human groups existed. Gathered field data through soil sampling, GPS, and GIS.

11/98Investigation of an extinct riverbed using GPR in Adrian Valley, Nevada in an attempt to find dried shallow stream channels.

11/98Preliminary tests on Russell Spit within the Lake Lahontan basin near Reno, Nevada to determine the potential of GPR analysis.

Employment Experience:

Teaching Assistant for Geography 104/(Physical Geography) for Dr. Garry L. Running

Duties: Working in the laboratory section with students. Helping students with questions and grading labs.

Research Assistant for Dr. Garry L. Running. Reconstructing Post-Glacial Paleoenvironment in the Oak Lake Sand Hills, SW Manitoba.

Duties: Gathered field data (soil samples, GPS, and GIS,), and prepared it for laboratory work.

Midwest Manufacturing (Eau Claire, Wisconsin)

Duties: Forklift operation that includes a variety of jobs that require good communication skills. Additional jobs required wrapping, cutting and sorting of a variety of timber products.
