SUPPORT STAFF REQUIRED

Perseid is an outstanding specialist school for communication and interaction for pupils aged 3 – 19 with severe and profound learning difficulties including those with an additional diagnosis of autism.
LEVEL 1 TEACHING ASSISTANTS: term time only plus training days (39 weeks per year) Scale ME3 (£16,005) pro-rata for the number of hours/weeks worked.

Full-time - Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 3.45pm, Fridays 8.30am – 3.30pm, plus 18 Mondays per annum to 4.30pm (32 ½ hours per week) and part-time postMonday to Friday 11.30am – 3.30pm or Monday to Friday 8.45am – 11.45am

You will provide general support to the teacher including support and management of pupils in lessons, at swimming, playtime, leisure and lunchtimes and the preparation of teaching resources and displays.
You will have experience of working or caring for school age children and will either be in the process of undertaking the Teaching Assistant Induction Programme or be willing to undertake this or an NVQ2 in childcare and education.
Relief Caretaker: Level 1 Scale ME4 point 11 – 13 (16,482 - £17,196)
Monday and Tuesday 3.30pm – 6.30pm, Wednesday 3.30pm – 8.00pm, Thursday 3.30pm – 9.00pm, Friday 3.30pm – 9.00pm, Saturday 8.00am – 5.30pm, Sunday 1.00pm – 4.00pm. We will consider applications from candidates who are able to work some of these hours.
To cover for the Caretaker regarding the opening and/or closing of the school, including the security of the site, premises and its contents, the lighting, heating and alarm systems, lettings and any other duties arising from the use of the premises.
MIDDAY SUPERVISORPOSTS: 11.45-1.45 pm every day (term time only)
Salary will be £12,988.19 per annum pro rata (approx equivalent to £3,417 for hours worked.)
You will help the children with eating their lunch and oversee their leisure time.
All posts are subject to passing basic literacy and numeracy tests which will be administered by the school. These will take place on Tuesday 1 May for Midday Supervisors and on 10 May for all other candidates.
Successful candidates will be invited back for an interview. Midday Supervisors will take place on Wednesday 2 May and Monday 14 and Wednesday 16 for all other candidates.
For all posts, a commitment to Perseid children and their complex needs is essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team. You must be in good health as these are energetic, challenging posts.
