AGENDA ITEM #1: January 24, 2005 minutes approval

The minutes were approved as written with the amendment that the pediatric functional requirements should be made available to vendors in their final draft formeven though they have not yet gone through final HL7 approval. This recommendation, made by the PC-TC during the January 24, 2005 meeting, was reiterated by Aileen.

AGENDA ITEM #2: May 2005 WGM

Discussion continues on feasibility for any PDSSIG members to attend the Netherlands meeting. In order to conduct business efficiently and effectively with the highest numbers of face-to-face participants, SIG members would like to formally request an “out-of-cycle” meeting to be held May 13, 2005 in Washington, DC immediately preceding the upcoming PAS meeting. Conference call participants unanimously agreed to proceed with this request.

ACTION ITEM: The co-chairs will formally request an out-of- cycle meeting.

AGENDA ITEM #3: Update from PC-TC and EHR-TC

Based on feedback and recommendations from both technical committees followingtheir review of our progress to date, our SIG will convene a conference call in the latter part of April 2005 to present our final draft to both committees. The EHR-TC will imbed the pediatric functional requirements into the EHR-S ahead of the final national balloting of the trial use standards to commence sometime in 2006. Our SIG will work with the PC-TC to develop pediatric storyboards; most likely, we will contribute SIG participation to existing PC-TC project working groups.

Recommendation from PC-TC to our SIG on how to proceed:

-Complete our pediatric requirements as outlined in our project plan including feedback from our constituents.

-Submit our final draft requirements to PC-TC and EHR-TC jointly as well as the Community Health/Public Health SIG.

-The EHR-TC will be able to incorporate our pediatric requirements into the DTSU ahead of the 2006 final vote (pediatric requirements become part of final EHR-S requirements).

-Conduct a joint conference call in April with EHR-TC and PC-TC

Recommendation from EHR-TC to our SIG on how to proceed:

-Complete our pediatric requirements as outlined in our project plan including feedback from our constituents

-Set up a conference call with EHR-TC to discuss our final version ahead of May 2005 meeting

-Submit via formal letter outlining the global requirements we have identified

-Publish the output of our work including the methodology we have used to in this project as a learning tool for other interested groups.

-Do not worry about interoperability issues; concentrate on pediatric functional requirements.

AGENDA ITEM #4: Timeline and projected project completion dates

1)Target date for presentation/formal submission to EHR-TC and PC-TC late April 2005

2)Review by constituents (all organizations represented by SIG members) week of March 7th through April 8, 2005.

3)Final draft edits by Friday, March 4th

SIG MEMBER ASSIGNMENTS:

Using our EHR-S Pediatric Functional Requirements V6 (includes 1/24/2005 edits/revisions) please review and submit your edits, revisions, recommendations to on or before February 9 ahead our next conference call. As a reminder, revisions should reflect pediatric specific requirements or examples of what an electronic health record could provide. Please evaluate each pediatric requirement to determine whether this is a requirement or more appropriately included as a pediatric-specific example as you make your edits/recommendations.
