The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course provides a foundational knowledge of theory and resuscitation modalities necessary to stabilize the critically ill pediatric patient. This course is designed for healthcare providers who want to enhance their knowledge of pediatric resuscitation with the intent of increasing confidence and comfort in the provision of care to the critically ill child.

Course Materials

Please allow yourself adequate study time. The new materials (2006 edition) include the following: PALS Provider manual, course guide, student CD, PALS algorithm card and a “Precourse Preparation Checklist.” The student CD contains a Pretest that must be completed prior to attending. Please bring a copy of your completed Pretest results, PALS Provider manual, PALS algorithm card and completed "Precourse Preparation Checklist" to the first day of class. This checklist contains of list of everything you must do to prepare for the course to ensure success.

Prerequisites

RN, RRT, MD or A-EMCA

Register early, as enrollment will be limited for each session. The Critical Care Outreach Education program at McMaster Children’s Hospital endeavors to provide an exemplary course experience, however, in rare situations courses may be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. If it becomes necessary to cancel a course, registrants will be given the option of enrolling in a future course or receiving a refund. Course materials are not refundable.

Cancellation Policy

For any withdrawal less than two weeks in advance of the course, a $75.00 administrative fee will be deducted from your registration fee.
Substitutions are welcome.
No refunds will be granted for course materials.
Requests for transfer to an alternate course date can be made in advance of the course. One transfer is permitted with an administrative fee of $50.00 payable at time of transfer.
No refunds are given after the start of the course. No refunds or transfers will be given for “no shows”.
