Good morning to you all and thanks again for participating in this Adobe Connect session. We will be listening to you, taking manual notes, and audio recording your interactions with each other and Adobe Connect. My name is Afua and I am facilitating this session. While we will be on the session today with you, the Immersion Team’s role in the session is only as virtual observers to capture information about changes or additions that need to be made to the Users’ Guide. At his point I would ask them to introduce themselves.

Our goal is to see if the Adobe Connect Users’ Guide of Basic Features provides enough information to allow you to use Adobe Connect effectively and efficiently. We will ask you to access the various pods in Adobe Connect to perform communication and collaborative tasks. Remember, this is not a test of your ability to use Adobe Connect. It is a test of the usefulness of the draft version of the Users' Guide.

We will now start by performing some communication tasks. (Go to page 2 of the Protocol)

Task 1—Accessing Adobe Connect:

Task 2—Communicate:

Voice Chat

Steps:

  1. Click on Microphone icon
  2. Allow pop-up
  3. Hold the Talk button
  4. Say “Hello or Introduce Yourself”
  5. Release button to silence the microphone

Do they know how to use the Voice Chat feature?

Are they looking for support to their challenges? If so, where are they looking?

Text Chat

(9:40-9:45)

Steps:

  1. Click in text chat box in Chatpod.
  2. Type your message into the text box.
  3. Click on the drop down arrow next to Everyone and select. another meeting attendee’s name if the message is privately being sent to another meeting attendee.
  4. If the message is to be seen by all meeting attendees, leave the Everyone option displayed.
  5. Hit enter on your computer’s keyboard or click onAdobe Connect Send icon to the right of the text box to send your message.
  6. Your text chat will appear in the Chat window.

Indicate Status (Thumbs-Up)

Steps:

  1. Click on the drop down menu next to theMy Status bar.
  2. Select the desired icon.
  3. The selected icon will display next to your name.
  4. To clear status, click on the drop down menu next to the

My Status barand select Clear My Status.

Task 3—Collaborate:

Presenter—Share Desktop/Computer Screen

Steps:

  1. Click on dropdown arrow to right of theShare button at the bottom of the Share pod.
  2. A menu will be displayed.
  3. Clickon My Computer Screen.
  4. The Start Screen Sharing menu will be displayed.
  5. Select Desktop.
  6. Click on the Share button at the bottom of the Start Screen Sharing menu to share your desktop.

Change who is presenter--Request Control

Steps:

  1. Click on the Request Control buttonat the lower left part of the screen.
  2. A message appears on the computer screen of the attendee who is presenting sayingRequestor's name requested to control the shared screen.
  3. The attendee who is presenting must decide to Accept or Decline by clicking onthe respective option.
  4. The attendee who is presenting must also click the stop sharing button on his or her desktop.
  5. If accepted, the attendee requesting control receives a confirmation message saying You are in control.
