JOLLY RODGERS

OUT OF SCHOOLS NEWSLETTTER

March 2016

Theme: mini beasts, Mother’s Day, St Patrick’s Day and Easter

During this month the children will be researching various mini beasts that live near us i.e. in our gardens, parks and forests, children will explore the internet and books to create a collage of small and large insects and some information on each bug.

The boys and girls will be making a very special gift to bring home for mother’s day they have all worked very hard so no peeking.

We will celebrate st Patricks day by wearing a green item or bringing a green object into out of school that day.

Various Easter artwork will be completed also a special Easter egg hunt will take place before we finish.

Cold Weather – Coats

Following a fairly mild winter, we seem to be in the middle of a cold snap. If your child is coming to the After School Club, please remember to send them in a warm coat. It is not unusual for some children to want to spend the whole session outside and we need to ensure that they remain warm.

Easter break

As you are all aware schools are off for Easter break. If you could confirm the dates your child is off school and if they will be attending Jolly Rodgers during this time, this will make it easier for staff to sort activities for the children while they are off school and help accommodate staff holidays.

Special days

On Friday 4th March we will be having a ‘Big Yellow Day’ for Children’s liver society charity. Children are asked to wear something yellow or with yellow on it and all we ask is a small donation for this very worthwhile cause. THANK YOU.

Nursery will be closed Monday 28th March and Tuesday 29th March we will reopen again on Wednesday 30th March.

Just the usual extra notes

Boxes – please ensure you check your child’s box everyday so that anything they have in them will not get mislaid.

Toys – During this month the children can bring in I pads, Tablets and other toys to use only on a Thursday. We will do our best to make sure they do not get broken but it is your child’s responsibility to take care of whatever they bring in.

Driveway – Can we please encourage you to drive carefully when entering and exiting the car park? Always be on the lookout for adults and children as they arrive and leave the nursery and please do not park where nursery vehicles need to be getting in and out.

If you have any questions regarding anything in this newsletter or Out of School please feel free to talk to any staff.
