This iconic building – one of the capital’s greenest – will demonstrate how the latest infrastructure technology can make the world’s cities better places to live and work.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and motivated Commercial Coordinator Intern to work under the direction of the Events and Safety Manager and the Operations team to position Siemens and The Crystal as the Global Centre of Competence for Urban Sustainability and a major venue within the London Meeting and Events Market. You will be involved with our high profile events that have major international executives present.

What are my responsibilities?

  • First point of contact for new booking requests via e-mail or phone
  • Responsible for a thorough set-up of clients in booking system and diary management of events
  • Preparing quotations for events
  • Replying to a high volume of customer e-mails in a professional manner on a daily basis
  • Conducting site visits and attending meetings with clients
  • Support the Events Team in the planning and delivery stagesof small to medium size events
  • Compile event plans and other documents necessary for the successful running of events
  • Attend networking events ( on and off site ) together with the Account Executive and Sales & Marketing Manager
  • Sending out relevant promotional material to potential and existing clients
  • Supporting with client invoicing
  • Assisting the Sales & Marketing Manager with marketing activities
  • Responsible for event follow up / feedback
  • Sole responsibility for tour / guide bookings

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Ideally you will be studying, or have studied an Events Management or Business Management related degree
  • Confident personality / positive can do attitude
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to multi task and prioritise information in a timely manner with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in ateam
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook programs & The Internet
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Experience in administrative work and diary management
  • Experience in events planning is preferred but not essential

What else do I need to know?

  • You must be able to start with us on the 1st February 2014
