ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ADVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

POST: Organisational Development Advisor

SALARY SCALE: Up to £30,317

RESPONSIBLE TO: HR & Development Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Learning and Development Team

JOB PURPOSE:

• To research and develop workforce development strategies which address organisationalneeds.

• To lead and co-ordinate all learning and development activities to meet the Trust’s

Strategic Plan and needs of staff.

• To lead organisational development projects within the Trust.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work with the HR and Development Manager and other colleagues as identified to produce an Organisational Development Strategy which addresses identified development needs from departments and supports organisational developments including culture change, quality improvement, coaching .

2. Work closely with the HR and Development Manager to implement the Organisational DevelopmentStrategy, leading and embedding workforce development projects as required, andmeasure the progress made and impact achieved.

3. Proactively work with Education and Social Care Heads of Service to identify developmentneeds (including needs identified through appraisals, regulatory requirements, policy and systemdevelopment) and develop the annual training and development plan for the trust.

4. Co-ordinate the delivery of learning and training requirements in order to deliver

effective solutions to issues identified in strategic and local plans and to support

desired outcomes, ensuring that training outcomes, impacts and benefits are

monitored and regularly reported.

5. Co-ordinate the learning and development programme across all sites providing a mixof delivery of training programmes, mentoring, coaching and sourcing internal andexternal providers, where appropriate and ensuring good practice is shared.

6. Manage the trustsorganisational development IT system and data and regularly

review and produce update reports to the Chief Executive and Trust and Operational Leadership Teams on the impactof workforce development initiatives and programmes measured against theorganisational development strategy and associated action plans and KPI’s.

7. Regularly review and update learning and development policies and contribute towardsorganisational policy developments as required.

8. Ensure effective IT systems are in place to efficiently book, manage, record and

report learning and development activities and ensure that staff are aware of the

processes to be followed to effectively use the systems in place.

9. Ensure effective promotion and communication of courses and where appropriate, direct marketing of such courses to individuals and groups within the organisation.

10. Identify and implement core programmes for the trust e.g. a management

development programme, staff induction etc.

11. Take responsibility for the monitoring and completion of mandatory training within theorganisation e.g. safeguarding, equality & diversity etc.

12. Manage bids for additional funding and the submission of documentation for externalawards.

13. Co-ordinate IIP accreditation and/or other accreditations across the trust and

organise focus groups as appropriate.

14. Actively participate in external forums and networks to expand knowledge, keep up todate with innovations and enhance the trust’s reputation.

15. Manage (as required) performance, appraisal, supervisions and development of Learning and Developmentstaff, setting annual performance targets.

16. Where appropriate design, deliver and evaluate learning and development solutions

17. Manage the Trusts student placements alongside strategic learning partnerships with local higher education establishments

18. Lead on a trust wide review of on-line learning provision

19. Ensure all internal training meets the required standards of regulatory and national best practice and is appropriately quality assured.

Qualifications / • Educated to degree level or relevant professional
Qualification
• Evidence of continuing professional development in relation to learning and organisational development. CIPD qualified or equivalent / • Management qualification / A
Experience and Knowledge / • Substantial experience in a workforce/organisational development role
• Experience of working effectively with colleagues to identify and address workforce development needs through a flexible programme of delivery
• Successful experience of implementing initiatives to
ensure sharing of good practice
• Demonstrable experience of implementing and supporting organisational change through effective workforce development programmes
• Knowledge of organisational development and
improvement strategies
• Experience of change management and leading
successful teams.
• Experience of accessing funding streams to enable learning and development solutions / • Experience of working with external partners
and stakeholders
• Knowledge of organisational development within an education and/or social care setting / A/I
