Open Text Evaluation Summary

OpenText LiveLink ECM 10 features evolving advanced foundational elements that allow organizations to rapidly and easily enable advanced content management applications and solutions throughout the enterprise. Open Text Content Services provide business value of business content across the enterprise while ensuring that it is protected and kept in check with established internal policies as well as industry and regulatory compliance mandates.

Capture, store, and organize information in personalized workspaces, folders, and compound documents; dynamic shortcuts point to any document, folder, or object within the repository. Create static pointers to specific versions to create a generation, or to specify published versions.

Manage the lifecycle of electronic and physical records according to internal policies and regulation requirements. Create classification plans, retention periods and disposition policies. Place holds on items scheduled for destruction.

Livelink ECM Records Manager is a fairly mature module within the Open Text product set. Open Text bought PSSoftware (iRIMS) in 1999 and incorporated it in the Livelink ECM product as a module. It works on the concept of one logical Enterprise repository or virtual repository for the Document and Records Management, and the module ensures your corporate records management program is applied to all corporate records as content is being created and managed.

Livelink supports authentication natively and through integration with any LDAP v3 compliant service include web servers, Windows domain, and other specialized authentication services.
