The food choices young people make every day are influenced by the options available, school policies, and practices, social norms within their peer groups, and partnerships with people in the school community. Making healthy food the main food means young people get the nutrients they need to be healthy, grow strong and be their best Eating a healthy breakfast and healthy food throughout the day can help young people concentrate and reach their academic potential, and can help regulate mood and behaviour. (Cooper et al 2011, Widenhorn-Muller 2008).
