NTNU Guidelines for Doctoral and Master Students Scholarship

Article 1. / The Guidelines are formulated to encourage doctoral and master students to be committed to good moral conducts and academic studies.
Article 2. / The funding of the schoarhip is sourced from the university’s annual budget.
Article 3. / Each department or institute has one quota for one doctoral student and one master student. If there are more than 50 doctoral or master students in one department/institute, there will be an additional quota for every 50 students.
Article 4. / The scholarship will be granted each semester. Each doctoral student will be granted NT$20,000 and an award certificate. Each master student will be granted NT$15,000 and an award certificate.
Article 5. / Eligibility
Students must have completed two courses and a minimum of 4 credits in the previous semester (thesis credits not included) with a GPA ranking within top 5 in the doctoral or master programs. In addition, the students shall not fail any courses taken and have a conduct grade of A or above. Moreover, the students shall present relevant documents as proof of their potential in academic research.
Article 6. / Scholarship awardees may not receive any other scholarships sponsored by NTNU or government during the time span of the scholarship (Assistantship excluded).
Article 7. / Candidates shall be recommended by the department or institute. Required documents include the application form, transcript of the previous semester, proof of document showing the applicant has not received other scholarship, and the supporting document(s) showing the candidates’ potential in academic research (i.e. projects involved, paper presented in academic seminars, or papers published in journals with a review system). All documents should be submitted to the Division of Life Affairs, Office of Student Affairs.
Article 8. / The Guidelines were passed by the student affairs committee and became effective upon the approval of the University President. Any amendment to the Guidelines shall follow the same procedures.
