NOVEMBER 24, 2015 BERGEN TOWN BOARD REGULAR 2nd MEETING

The Bergen Town Board convened in a regular session at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall with Supervisor Cunningham presiding.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG

Town HistorianTom Tiefel gave update on future plans for the museum and Historian’s office and introduced Gina Schelemanow as student at GCC who is helping in his office. Tom is requesting a town board member being on a collections committee as per state guidelines.

MINUTES: Councilwoman Grant made a motion to approve the minutes of November 10, 2015; seconded by Councilman Stone and carried by a vote4-0.

REPORTS:

HIGHWAY/REFUSE: First salt run this morning; fire hydrant markers to be replaced; snow fences up. GCEDC questioning dedication of Apple Tree Ave; paper work found a “portion” was dedicated in 2006.

COMMITEES:

BUILDINGS: Next meeting is scheduled for December 1st at 5:00 pm - cleaning contract, Library windows & door and parking lot will be discussed

PARKS: Nothing to report

VILLAGE RELATIONS: Nothing to report

OLD BUSINESS:

NYS Snow & Ice Agreement: Councilman Haywood offered Resolution #11-2015 to approve Supervisor Cunningham signing the NYS DOT Extension of the Snow & Ice Agreement; seconded by Councilwoman Grant and it carried by a vote 4-0.

RESOLUTION # 11-2015

AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE THE EXTENSION OF THE STATE

SNOW & ICE AGREEMENT D009590 FOR 2017/2018 CONTRACT YEAR

WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town Bergen on November 24, 2015 makes resolution to approve the Snow & Ice Contract No. D009590 between the State of New York and the Town of Bergen for snow and ice control which will expire on June 30, 2017 unless further extended. The contract will be for an estimated amount of $39,664.98.

NOW, THERFORE, BE ITRESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Bergen authorizes the Town Supervisor to execute the Agreement to Extend Contract No. D009590.

NEW BUSINESS:

Newly Elected Officials TrainingCouncilman Haywood is requesting to attend Association of Towns Newly Elected Officials School January 6-8. Councilman Stone made a motion for Councilman Haywood to attend the 2016 Training School for Newly Elected Officials not to exceed $100; seconded by Councilwomen Grant and carried by a vote 4-0.

Court Network Upgrades Councilman Haywood made a motion to approve proposals from V2D for court network upgrades not to exceed $745.00; seconded by Councilwoman Grant and carried by a vote 4-0.

NEXT MEETING:

Regular Meeting – Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Courtroom with the audit of the bills at 6:45 pm

EXECUTIVE SESSION: Councilman Stonemade a motion to enter into Executive Session at 802: pm to discuss matters related to an employee; seconded by Councilwoman Grant and it carried by a vote 4-0. CouncilmanStone made a motion to exit Executive Session at 8:40 pm; seconded by Councilwoman Grantand it carried by a vote 4 -0.
