Note from the Board of Directors the Board of Directors Is Happy to Announce the 2017-2018

Note from the Board of Directors ~ The Board of Directors is happy to announce the 2017-2018 slate of officers. First we want to thank departing memberCarol Overtonfor her years of service. We also want to welcome our newest members Bob Walker voted on again and returning as Presidentand Eddie Moran (Grounds Committee). We look forward to fresh insights and ideas for the club’s future. Here are the board members for 2017-2018.

Also we want to remind everyone thatmonthly board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 6pm.

Golf Course Update ~ With the mild winter we have been able to continue to make progress on renovating tee boxes, removing trees and treating the golf course. Work is about done on 15 and 16 tee box projects ready for sod work. Alfonso has almost single handedly removed over 14 trees the last couple of months with a few more to go. Bobby has been spraying out the unwanted grasses, cleaning up the native areas and has completed the services on all of our grounds equipment. Due to the warm weather we are going to go ahead and do an early aerification of the greens to help with the healing process. This will allow an early aerification of the fairways once we are past the hard freeze period.

Club Financial Status ~ The first two months of the quarter have resulted in staying ahead of our budget projections for 2017. Rounds are up, revenue is up and expenses are staying on track with projections for the most part. There have been a few surprises with windshields being broken on golf carts, all of the club’s vacuums crashing in the same month and a couple unexpected maintenance issues on equipment. But again with the milder than normal weather we have exceeded our revenue projections and despite the surprises we are ahead of budget.

Payment of Month Bills by the 15th ~ Despite the good budget numbers for the first two months of the quarter we still need everyone to pay their monthly bill in full on time. This month will start late fees being added to your bill as of the 16th of the month if your bill is not paid on time. If you have any questions please contact Jerry Fagg or Brent Edmister.

Note from the General Manager ~ I want to thank all the members and guests that have responded favorably to the tee box renovations that are still ongoing. This is a labor of love on my part during January and February.

With improvements to the golf course and the word continuing to spread that we are moving in the right direction, we set a record in February for the most rounds in a day since I have been at Oak Hills with 147 rounds. Last year we had 16 days that broke 100 rounds with the largest being 125 rounds.

I have also been very please, so far this year, with our budget projections. We have exceeded revenue projects in both January and February and I pray this is a good sign for how the rest of 2017 will go for Oak Hills.
