North Wiltshire Orienteers (NWO)

Local Colour-coded EventSavernake Forest, near Marlborough

Sunday 19 April 2009

/

Background:Savernake Forest is a large private forest near Marlborough, which has not been used for Orienteering for many years, and we are not aware of any previous Orienteering map of the area. NWO approached the Savernake Estate in 2008, and we are most grateful to Lord Cardigan and the Forestry Commission for agreeing to the staging of this event.
We consider it is important that we establish our credentials, both with the landowner, and with the local Forestry Commission, with an initial small-scale event - that is why we have proposed to limit our first event here to 70 competitors.

Entries:Because of the limit on the number of competitors, there will be no entry on the day, and all competitors must pre-enter.

Entriesare invited by email to the organiser, Michael Reynolds. However those without Internet access may telephone in the early evening after 7pm. See contact details below.

Please give Name, club, age or age-class, BOF membership number and the chosen course (Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue)for each competitor.

Fees are to be paid on the day. A place will be held for you if your entry is successful. If you find that you are unable to take up the place please notify the organiser as soon as possible so that it can be offered to someone else. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis. When the limit is reached entries will be closed and this will be notified on the NWOwebsite.

Details, including the precise location of the event will be emailed to those who have successfullygained places. (The location shown on the BOF website is indicative only and is NOT an accurate guide to the precise event location)
