CONDITIONS OF SALE

1.  PRICES. The prices alongside each lot are the RESERVES. They are the starting prices for each lot. The minimum reserve is $5 and all lots set at this price should be examined closely as bargains may exist.

2.  AUCTIONEER. The appointed Auctioneer (Trevor Lacy) shall decide the work program for the auction.

3.  DISPUTES. In the case of a dispute arising, the decision of the Auctioneer shall be final. If necessary, he may re-offer the lot.

4.  BIDDING. The highest bidder shall be the purchaser. The Auctioneer shall determine the bidding advances (usually steps of approximately 10%). Where floor bids do not exceed the highest postal bid, that postal bidder will pay the reserve when no other floor or postal bids have been received, or one bidding step over the second highest postal or highest floor bid, whichever is the greater, if there have been other bids.

5.  VIEWING: on the day of the sale only - from 12 noon to 1:55 pm.

6.  PAYMENT. May be made during the auction, but unless prior arrangements have been made payment is required at the conclusion of the auction…cash is preferred. If paying by cheque, identification may be required. Major credit cards (Mastercard or Visa only) are accepted, but will attract a 3% surcharge to cover merchant fees.

7.  POSTAL BIDDERS. Please forward bids to MIKE KOUWEN, 10 JAMESON STREET, SWANBOURNE WA 6010 on the bidding sheet (or by email to no later than 6pm the day before the sale). Bids may also be lodged with Mike Kouwen at the auction venue on the day of sale, before 1.00pm. PAYMENT IS DUE ON RECEIPT OF INVOICE. The Auctioneer may refuse bids from past tardy and non-payers. All lots sold at over $20 will be sent uninsured registered mail unless otherwise requested. Dispatch of lots not sent registered is at the sole risk of the purchaser. A charge for postage and packing may be made for all lots sent by post.

8.  INSPECTION OF LOTS. Successful room bidders will be deemed to have inspected and accepted the lots before leaving the auction room.

9.  DESCRIPTION OF LOTS. The descriptions in the catalogue are as submitted by the vendors. In particular, bidders are encouraged to inspect lots which have been described as ‘mint’ as in most cases such items will have been hinged.
