Chorus at GHS:

Attention Parents of 8th grade chorus students who plan to take Chorus at GHS next year:

We’re going to be having a really important meeting this coming week regarding the Choir Cruise next year. One major event coming up is the deposit for the Bahamas Cruise!!

The travel company has given us a deadline for our first deposit of $100 per person. Our deadline is MARCH 11TH. This is a little under 3 weeks from now. Students who have sold sponsorships so far this year may apply that money towards the deposit. I’ve also attached another copy of the letter so that you/your child can seek out sponsorships over the next few weeks.

I am going to host TWO NIGHTS of Booster Club meetings next week. You can either come Monday March 24th or Tuesday March 25th -7pm in the choir room. You will receive fundraiser information, discuss the Cruise requirements, cost, deposit, as well as upcoming performances.

If you cannot attend either night, it’s very important that you contact me, so that I make certain you get all of the up to date information.

Sincerely,

Ashley D. Gresko

JROTC:

The JROTC from Lexington High School will be coming out to Gilbert Middle School on February 27 during our 8th grade lunch to provide our students with information regarding the JROTC program. The Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is a Federal program sponsored by the United States Armed Forces in high schools across the United States. The JROTC is a social organization and has programs that will enable cadets to better serve their country as leaders, as citizens, and in military service should they decide to enter it. We are looking forward to having them at our school!

Interim Reports:

Interim reports will be issued on Monday, Feb. 24.

Beta Club:

The GMS Beta Club is sponsoring a food drive to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank. Please send in your canned goods, peanut butter, cereals, and any other dry goods and drop them off in the boxes at the front entrance of the school. The winning grade level will get an ice cream sundae party at lunch.

Color Run:

Accessing your Parent Edmodo Account:

Many teachers at GMS use Edmodo to post assignments and share documents with their students. When a student creates an Edmodo account, a parent account is automatically created. Accessing this parent account allows parents to monitor a student’s classroom activities and assignments. The following link provides detailed instructions for creating Edmodo Parent Accounts:
