Welcome to spring!
This month’s newsletter is focused on what’s on for the spring and summer competition season and the opportunities available to riding club members.
BRC Area 4 Lecture with Margot Tiffany (British Riding Club Master Judge) at Askham Bryan College on Wednesday 19th June 2013 – FREE to all BRC members and £5 to non members.
Margot will be giving an insight into the new 2013 ‘Riding Tests ’and ‘Style Jumping’for both Novice and Open Classes.

Mini One Day Event – 26th May at Londonderry, schedules available at Field House, NEC and McIvors. Entries close Tuesday 21st May.
Area Horse Trials – 23rd June at Helen Bells, Breckenbrough.
Classes for Senior 80, 90, 100 & 100+ and Junior 90 & 100.
The Championships are 2nd, 3rd and 4th August 2013 at Swalcliffe Park, Banbury. Please make sure you will be available before entering the Area competition.

Summer Fun Hog Roast – Date TBC at Youmans’….including a bucking bronco to practice your stickability!!!
Due to lack of fundraising support it is likely that those who qualify for the Area competitions may have to pay for their own stabling.
Lack of support and interest has meant we have had to postpone the Spring Dance which has always been a good fun money raiser – we don’t over price tickets so we don’t make much profit on those but it’s the raffles, games etc that help.
If you have any more good fund raising ideas please let us know – or why not join us?! We are looking for an extra committee member or two to help us. If you enjoy your club and would be interested in getting a bit more involved, the Committee meet once a month for a bit of a pub social and to arrange the events and training that the riding club provides. We are always looking for new ideas and people who are willing to invest just a bit of time to help us all make the most of our club and it is a great opportunity to learn and get closer to the action!

Tuition will cease for the summer and resume again in September but keep an eye out in the D&S and on the website for different events on Thursday evenings.
