New managing director at Schmersal Böhnke+ Partner
Dr. Andreas Hunscher takes over leadership of the elevator division
Bergisch Gladbach, 27 June 2016. On 1 June 2016, Dr. Andreas Hunscher took over as managing director of Schmersal Böhnke + Partner GmbH. In his new role, he will continue to lead Schmersal’s Wettenberg factory and be responsible for its business units “safe signal analysis” and “control elements”.
Schmersal Böhnke + Partner Steuerungssysteme GmbH, based in Bergisch Gladbach (Obereschbach) develops, designs and produces components, controllers and remote diagnosis systems for the elevator industry and is one of the leading providers in this sector.
Andreas Hunscher completed his doctorate in electrical engineering at the Ruhr University in Bochum and then spent around 15 years working in various management positions at a leading international automotive supplier, most recently as manager of the European infotainment division. Before moving to Schmersal in 2014, he was managing director of Langmatz GmbH, an innovative company in the infrastructure sector.
“The market for elevators and escalators is growing year on year in Europe, and this long-term trend is set to continue into the future. There are challenges involved in the shifting of demand to markets outside Europe, the amalgamation of traditional machine and plant engineering with information technologies, i.e. Industry 4.0 and digital business models, and the increasing demand for customised services, intensive consultancy, perfect-fit quotations and complete system solutions,” explains Dr Andreas Hunscher.“In this environment, it is my aim to expand on Schmersal Böhnke + Partner’s leading international position as a manufacturer of lift systems. With our new administration and production building in Obereschbach, Bergisch Gladbach, we are well equipped for further growth.
