MINUTES OF ORDINARY MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY

2.DECLARATION OF INTEREST
None.
3.MINUTES OF THE MEETING
The minutes of the meetings held on 11th May were taken as read, approved and signed by the Chairman.
4.MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
1. Repairs and information relating to the Community Hall
1. Hall heating system -
Councillor Persse has installed heating fans on the bar side of the main hall. Invoice received in meeting.
2. Bar gas system - legal responsibilities for checking valves etc., - Councillors agreed that it should be responsibility of Community Council to make sure that checks are done in accordance with legislation.
3. Moss in carpark
Councillor Thomas making further enquiries into removal of moss.
4. SSE FIT solar panel reading
Readings appear to be low and will be monitored. Next reading to be given to SSE after next meeting.
5. Emergency Planning
Newport City Council emergency planning department have updated their information toshow that Councillor Persse has taken over as the hall maintenance manager from Councillor Bartlett and they will also advise the police and fire brigade to update their records.
6. Gazebo and play area
Awaiting confirmation from Newport City Council about whether or not the gazebo which was installed by Nash Community Council is permitted to stay on their land as no permission was requested tobuild it.

External Audit -
1 Information to be checked and will be sent to external audit next week.
2 Collation of code of conductand 2017/18 declaration of any interest forms.
2. Standing Orders and other regulations to be reviewed. Two copies of the proposed model standing orders are being circulated with the intention of agreeing time guidelines etc at next meeting
3. Highway Issues
1. Welsh Government traveller site - present position
Security is still on 24 hr patrol. No further information received.
2. Overhanging hedges - Clerk to contact Newport Streetscene again about further concerns about hedge overhanging path next to bend close to Fords.
3. Potholes - Burnt House Lane - Clerk to report concerns to Newport Streetscene.
4. Unstable road bank by Ford Garage. Clerk to report further concerns to Newport Streetscene
4. Good Councillors Guide Book - Clerk will keep book on file
5. Clerks Job description and engagement letter review
Clerk to keep a record of hours and work for consideration to be given at next meeting.
6. The Living Levels Landscape partnership project talk presented by Gavin Jones. Gavin gave a half an hour presentation on the work being done by the partnership and their key aims. Please find attached a summary of his talk which he has provided.
