NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER

NAIA-CTSA “All That’s Right in Sport” Award Information

Purpose:

To recognize an NAIA institution, team or individual for actions that have clear connections to sportsmanship, and bring with them outstanding stories that motivate and inspire. The NAIA-CTSA "All That's Right in Sport" Award winner will be honored at the CTSA Awards Banquet, held annually in St. Louis.

Criteria:

1. Must be an act, event or situation that has ties to the NAIA through a member institution, team or individual.

2. The act/event/situation should include but not limited to:

a. Acts of honesty and integrity that go beyond the norm.

b. Individuals reacting correctly when others do not.

c. Decisions that, while difficult or unpopular, are respectful of the game, opponent and most of all attest to the honesty of the individual(s) involved.

d. Instances of individuals overcoming obstacles, demonstrating perseverance and determination, displaying great courage in the face of adversity.

e. Unwavering commitment to the team.

f. Extraordinary acts of kindness that lift up a teammate, coach or opponent.

g. Acts of selflessness, particularly ones that change another person’s life.

h. Demonstrates “All That’s Right in Sport”.

Nomination Materials Required:

1. Nomination forms are available at http://www.championsofcharacter.org/page/naiaresources.php

2. Completed NAIA-CTSA Nomination Form or Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Team Nomination Form and, if desired, any supporting materials.

Timeline and Selection Process:

9/1/2011 Nomination information will be sent out to NAIA-CoSIDA members and all NAIA-ADA members on or around this date.

10/15/2011 Nominations due to the NAIA National Office

10/15/2011 All Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Team Awards Winners from the previous year will be forwarded for consideration.

10/31/2011 NAIA-CTSA "All That's Right in Sport" Award recipient selected by the Champions of Character Awards Committee.

11/1/2011 NAIA-CTSA "All That's Right in Sport" Award recipient announced

Spring 2012 CTSA Awards Banquet in St. Louis, MO. Exact date to be determined.

Award Presentation:

1. NAIA and CTSA will cover the expenses for 1 or 2 individuals to travel to St. Louis for the CTSA Awards Banquet.

2. The CTSA Awards banquet will be held in the Spring of 2012. Exact date to be determined.
