MSDS Activity

Throughout the year we will be using some dangerous or hazardous chemicals and it is imperative that you know how to reference the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for each of the chemicals we will be using. Today you will be given an MSDS sheet for a chemical we may use at some point in the future.

For today’s activity you are to fill out the sheet below for the important information on an MSDS sheet. The handling, storage, transport and regulatory information is not information you will have to know for this class. For this class you are to know the safety information as to keep both yourself and the lab prepared for the worst. Most if not all of the MSDS you will have to read this year will be kept on a CD located near the fume hood
