Monthly Theme: Welcome and Creating a Classroom Community
Important Information
- School is closed on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in observance of Yom Kippur.
- If you have not, please send back the Emergency Phone Chain (yellow half sheet) ASAP!!
- We are still waiting for some family photos, so please send those in ASAP too!
- Please make sure to check the website throughout the week for important information, especially over the weekend because the newsletters are often posted on Friday afternoon.
- Check your child’s backpack each day for important papers and information to be returned.

AM CLASS
The morning class has had a lot of sickness recently so please be sure to keep your child home if they are not feeling well in the morning. This week we will be working on pre-writing skills, strengthening our fine motor skills, and continuing cooperative activities with our classmates. We will be practicing putting on our jackets using the “flip, flop, over the top” method. The Scholastic News we will review this week is titled, “Thank you, Apple Tree.” Please review this with your child when they bring it home in their backpack. We have been sending several e-mails about class parents, volunteers and reminders. If you are not getting these e-mails please let us know as soon as possible.
PM CLASS
The afternoon class will begin this week working on our Handwriting Without Tears program. For the next week we will be doing pre-writing activities such as aim and scribble, drawing lines, and making Mat Man. We also continue to strengthen our fine motor skills and we have been doing cutting activities with various projects. The afternoon class is doing a great job cooperating with their classmates and working together. We will continue working on these skills throughout the school year.
