Travelers within the United States
Arrival:
- Please use the San Jose International Airport.
- Suggested airport arrival is Sunday, July 12, 2009 before 2:30 PM
- We will arrange for bus transportation from the San Jose International Airport to the Asilomar Conference Center. Please arrange your flight schedule to accommodate one of these departure times.
- Bus 1 - leaves San Jose International Airport at 12:30 PM, arrives at Asilomar at 2:00 PM
- Bus 2 - leaves San Jose International Airport at 1:30 PM, arrives at Asilomar at 3:00 PM
- Bus 3 - leaves San Jose International Airport at 3:15 PM, arrives at Asilomar at 4:45 PM
Departure:
- We recommend that you depart San Jose International Airport either on the afternoon of Thursday, July 16, or Friday, July 17.
- Due to the scheduled activities on the morning of Thursday, July 16 and the distance to drive to the San Jose International Airport, it may be difficult to return attendees to the airport in time to catch eastbound flights. Most eastbound flights leave San Jose Airport in the early morning to about noon. There are a few late night (midnight) flights to the Midwest and east coast of the United States.
- If you make flight arrangements for Friday, July 17, 2009, please make arrangements at the Marriot Courtyard San Jose Airport hotel, at 1727 Technology Drive, San Jose, California 95110 USA, Telephone: 1-408-441-6111.
- We will schedule bus transportation from Asilomar to the San Jose International Airport and to the Marriot hotel on July 16, 2009 at the following times:
- Bus 1 – depart Asilomar at 12:30 PM and arrive at San Jose International Airport at 2:00 PM and drop off at the Marriot hotel at 2:30 PM. This timeframe will enable attendees to catch a 3:30 PM or later flight.
- Bus 2 – depart Asilomar at 3:00 PM and arrive at San Jose International Airport at 4:30 PM and drop off at the Marriot hotel at 5:00 PM. This bus will enable attendees to catch a 5:00 PM or later flight.
- Bus 3 – depart Asilomar at 5:00 PM and arrive at San Jose International Airport at 7:00 PM and drop off at the Marriot hotel at 7:30 PM. This bus will enable attendees to catch a 8:30 PM or later flight.
Please note:The bus schedules listed above are tentative and may be adjusted in May 2009 to better accommodate the flight schedules of attendees.
International Travelers
Arrival:
- Please use the San Jose International Airport (Note: if you must use the San Francisco International Airport, please contact so we can arrange transportation from San Francisco.)
- Suggested airport arrival is either Saturday, July 11 or early Sunday, July 12, 2009.
- If you choose to arrive on Saturday, July 11 please make arrangements at the following hotel for the night of July 11.
- Marriot Courtyard San Jose Airport hotel, at 1727 Technology Drive, San Jose, California 95110 USA, Telephone: 1-408-441-6111.
- If you choose to arrive on Sunday, July 12, please only use the San Jose International Airport and arrive before 12:30 PM. You will need time to go through customs before the last bus leaves San Jose International Airport at 3 PM.
- There are three scheduled bus departures from the San Jose International Airport to the Asilomar Conference Center. Please notify Doug Cook at as to which bus you will be taking.
- Bus 1 - leaves San Jose International Airport at 12:30 PM, arrives at Asilomar at 2:00 PM
- Bus 2 - leaves San Jose International Airport at 1:30 PM, arrives at Asilomar at 3:00 PM
- Bus 3 - leaves San Jose International Airport at 3:15 PM, arrives at Asilomar at 4:45 PM
Departure:
- We recommend that you depart San Jose International Airport on Thursday, July 16, 2009. (Note: if you must use the San Francisco International Airport, please contact so we can arrange appropriate transportation.)
- Due to the scheduled activities on Thursday, July 16 and the distance to drive to the San Jose International Airport, please look for flights that depart San Jose after 3:30 PM.
- We will schedule bus transportation from Asilomar to the San Jose International Airport on Thursday, July 16 at the following times:
- Bus 1 – depart Asilomar at 12:30 PM (noon) and arrive at San Jose International Airport at 2:00 PM. This timeframe will enable attendees to catch a 4:00 PM or later flight.
- Bus 2 – depart Asilomar at 3:00 PM and arrive at San Jose International Airport at 4:30 PM. This bus will enable attendees to catch a 6:30 PM or later flight.
- Bus 3 – depart Asilomar at 5:00 PM and arrive at San Jose International Airport at 7:00 PM. This bus will enable attendees to catch a 9:00 PM or later flight.
oFor those traveling from San Francisco International Airport, we will arrange transportation according to travelers’ schedules and communicate details at a later date.
