Gujarat Governor unfurls National Flag at 66th Republic Day state-level function in Devbhoomi-Dwarka in presence of Chief Minister

Ahmedabad, Monday: Gujarat Governor Om Prakash Kohli today unfurled the National Flag at the state-level 66th Republic Day function at the new created district Devbhoomi-Dwarka’s headquarters at Khambhaliya in presence of Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.

The Governor took the guard of honour presented by the platoons of all the three wings of the Armed Forces for the first time, besides Gujarat Police, SRP, Rakshashakti University, NCC, Home Guards at the march past at Ramnagar Police Ground.

Both the Governor and Chief Minister inspected the parade in an open jeep. Nearly 1,000 jawans, including 450 women, performed acrobatics, bike stunts, self defence, rifle drill, equestrian and dog show. They also presented variety entertainment programmes

Even as the entire Khambhaliya district town observed it as a public holiday, it was a unique experience for the people of Khambhaliya watching the Republic Day spectacle at their doorstep.

The other highlights included 34 tableaus depicting different welfare activities of state government, firing in the air, dropping flowers from a helicopter in formation of a tricolor.

With a view to encourage excellence and perfection, different categories of prizes were given for best cultural programmes and parade by jawans, police and cadets. Nadiad District Platoon was declared first, Patan second and Rakshashakti University Women’s Platoon the third prize. The student-police cadets of Devbhoomi-Dwarka were given Consolation Trophy.

The newly carved out district of Devbhoomi-Dwarka received 421 development works worth Rs.480-crore during the fortnight long Republic Day celebration.

Prominent among those who attended the ceremony included Shrimati Avinash Kohli, MP Poonamben Madam, Chairman Mulubhai Bera, District Panchayat President Chandrasinh Jadeja, Nagarpalika President Kiranba Jadeja, senior officers G.R. Aloriya, Ajay Bhadu, Kamal Dayani, Anuradha Mall, T.S. Bisht, Bhagyesh Jha, K.D. Kapadiya, Collector S.K. Pandya, District Police Jagdish Patel, Commander Vijay Singh, Deputy Commander Dilip Chakravarty, Air Commander A. Grover.

Gujarat’s state level 66TH Republic-Day celebration at Dwarka

Governor, CM honoured 12 persons for distinguished contributions in various fields

Dwarka (Gujarat), Monday: Gujarat Governor Mr. O. P. Kohli, in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel, appealed to the citizens to perform their duty to develop Indian democracy, world’s biggest democractic system, as the republic.

The Governor was speaking at the cultural function organised on the eve of 66th Republic-day, as the part of state level celebrations at Dwarka, yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kohli appealed to adopt cleanliness and sanitation as the natural habit to purify ones inner-being.

Mrs. Patel congratulated the newly form Dwarka district’s administration for successfully organised the state level republic-day celebration here. The chief minister also sanctioned development works worth Rs 2-crore for Dwarka town and rural areas.

Mrs. Patel has continued the trend set by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat to hold the state level function of the national festival at various district with people’s participation, by organising this year’s Republic-Day celebrations at the newly formed Dwarka. During this celebrations the Chief Minister had dedicated 426 development works to the people and also laid foundation stone for developmental works of Rs. 480-crore.

The Chief Minister also announced that developmental projects such as road-buildings, energy, panchayats and others amounting to Rs. 526-crore would be carried out in the district.

Mrs. Patel said, the Prime Minister has included Dwarka in his project of revamping heritage cities of India. For Dwarka, he has allocated a fund of Rs 22-crore for revamping and renovating its cultural and heritage monuments.

On the occasion, as many as 12 persons were honoured for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields. They are Mr. Dayabhai Nakum (Art), Mr. Ghanshyamsinh Vadher (Tortoise Protection), MP Mr. Parimal Nathwani (Social), Mr. Hasmukhbhai Nakum (speedy calculation of perfact date-day), Mr. Savjibhai Chhaya (Drawing and Art), Mr. Harishbhai Pathak (Education), Mr. Kantibhai Nakum (Sports), Mr. Dhirenbhai Badiyani (Blood Donation), Ms Mani Ma (first woman spiritual preecher of Aahir Samaj), Mr. Madhu Rai (Literature), Mr. Naran Karangiya (Peacock Protector) and the Okhai Project of Tata Chemical Institution.

Guj Governor-CM releases five books

On the eve of 66th Republic Day in a mega cultural programme, Hon’ble Gujarat Governor Mr. O. P. Kohli and Hon’ble Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel have jointly released five books. These public utility books were published by the Dwarika District Administration Department.

The book “Dedipyaman Deobhoomi Dwarika” compiled by the Information Department, which provides pictorial information about the tourism and historical places of the district. While in “Jamkhambhaliya Darpan” the author Dr. V. K. Nakum has described the history of the district. Similarly, in book “Kalyanpur Taluko-Urja Taluko” includes the energy power. In book “Pratiti” compiled by the Information Department, describes success stories of the beneficieries from Governmental schemes. Just like this, in book “Audyogik Jhankhi” gives details about the industries of the district.
