  1. Matters arising from the Minutes:
  1. Research/investigations are continuing regarding a first Aid Course (‘Emergency first Aid’) for those coaches that haven’t got the qualification. Margate Ambulance Core was discussed as a possibility. It was also suggested that individuals go on separate courses that they organise themselves rather than organising one course on site, for all, one weekend.

The Senior Development Fund was discussed i.e. Louise Evans and Charlie Briesley getting free membership and physio (u17s). Steve is looking at four or five physio packages for strength and conditioning. WIP.(Action: Steve)

Steve nominated Abel Tsegay, Korade Awe and Max Heavens in the u20s for the senior development programme.

It was agreed that The Senior Sevelopment Fund would be available for athletes age 17 upwards. Any exceptions would be on a case by case basis.

Dominic Mahoney asked the club for help with the £800 cost of the trip to Denmark to compete in the European Masters. It was agreed that the Club would contribute £250.

The stopwatches have been purchased.

  1. Herne Bay 10:

All preparations are on schedule. 200 runners have registered so far. The projected profit is 3-4k. Steve mentioned that in the current climate extra security measures against terrorism should be considered. He suggested we should introduce a bag check just like the Canterbury 10. Steve is to forward the information to Glenn to progress. (Action: Steve)

  1. Secretary’s Report:

As the iekac.org.uk domain doesn’t work no emails have been received by the Secretary, including any public enquiries. Steve suggested replacing the current emails with or for people to provide an alternative email address. (Action: Laura to set up new email addresses for herself, Rachel, Michael and Sarah with the new format). It was also noted that there are no email addresses on the coaches page (Action: Laura)

  1. AOB:

Steve is to send an email to all coaches to arrange for a coaches meeting on 5th or 6th July at A la Turka. (Action: Steve)

It was agreed that a new more up to date website is needed for IEKA as it is felt by all that ours is out of date in design and content. It was acknowledged that while it can cost as little as £450 for a club specific website the issue is always uploading content. Steve suggested looking at the Aylesbury Rugby club website as an inspiration (Action: ALL).

The meeting finished at 8.05pm
