Michael (Mike) Chandler is the Project Manager for Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) of the Program Executive Office of Missiles and Space.

Prior to becoming the PM IAMD, Mr. Chandler served as the Army’s Air Traffic Control Product Office (PM ATC) where he was serving as the Business Director.

Mr Chandler attended the Senior Service College Fellowship at the Defense Acquisition University from June, 2012 to May 2013.Prior to that, he served as the Product Director for Aviation Networks and Mission Planning (ANMP)

After retiring from active duty on 2006, He served as the Department Chair, System Engineering and Test, and as a professor of Acquisition Program Management for the Defense Acquisition University, South Campus, in Huntsville Alabama.

Mr. Chandler graduated from the University of South Alabama in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Personnel and Industrial Relations and a Minor in Military Science. He entered active military service the same year as an Army officer serving in Field Artillery at Fort Polk, Louisiana. During his 21 years of military service he held several leadership positions including Company Executive Officer, Battalion Maintenance Officer, Company Commander, PEO Intelligence Electronic Warfare and Sensors (IEW&S) Executive officer, Assistant Product Manager (APM)Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Battle Management, APM THAAD Missile, Deputy Director THAAD Systems Engineering, and Space and Missile Defense Command Deputy Commanding General, Executive Officer. His active duty career culminated as the Product Manager, Missile Defense Agency Targets Range Integration and Operations.

Mr. Chandler’s awards include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, four Army Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation medals, three Army Achievement medals and the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.

Mr. Chandler holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Western International University. Mr Chandler is level III Defense Acquisition Workforce Initiative Act (DAWIA) Certified in Program Management, Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering (SPRDE), and Test and Evaluation. He is also a Program Management Professional (PMP).

He resides in Madison County Alabama with his wife Mary, and two of their three children Michael and Maggie. Their oldest daughter, Abbie, is attending Mississippi State University.
