Educational/Professional Background
Fernanda Levy is a Brazilian private mediator and partner at D'accord Institute of Amicable Dispute Resolutions. She is qualified in mediation by the “Master in Mediation and Negotiation of “Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch” (Buenos Aires – Suíça) and she is a certificated civil and commercial mediator by the ADR Group (London). She has been acting as a mediator and conflict manager in several cases involving family and business conflicts, since 2002.
In the business area, she operates especially within the banking, construction, textile and clothing sectors. In the family area, she operates in heritage relations as well as in marital and parental issues. Acting in both areas, Ms Levy is a specialist in family-run businesses, focusing especially on the partnership and succession processes. She is also a neutral at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada, Mediation and Arbitration Chamber of the Engineering Institute, Mediation and Arbitration Eurochamber and Conciliation and Mediation and Arbitration Chamber of Fiesp/Ciesp.
She is also a lawyer, partner at Bayer, Grosman & Levy, a collaborative law office in São Paulo, with 30 years of experience. She has a Master Degree (2004), a PhD in Law at Pontifícia Universidade Católica in São Paulo (2013) and she has been a member of the São Paulo Bar since 1984. She is also author of the book “Multi-steps clauses. Mediation in the context of arbitration” and articles on the area. Ms Levy is also a civil law, mediation and arbitration professor at universities. She performs as coach in Moots and supervises training programs in Mediation in several state and private institutions.
She is the General Secretary at the National Counsel for Mediation and Arbitration (CONIMA) since 2010 and affiliated to Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr) and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP). She is a current council at Mediation and Arbitration Chamber of the Engineering Institute. Since 2009, she has been co-coordinator and mediator of the service for conflict mediation offered without costs to the community which is part of the Programa Religar da Liga Solidária in Sao Paulo.
